Find us on ClassLink!
Not only is the library website just a click away, but ClassLink also provides easy access to NoodleTools citation creator and Sora, our e-book and audiobook platform. Look for these icons on Minuteman’s ClassLink Launchpad.
Library by the Numbers
We were thrilled to welcome Minuteman's ninth graders to the library during the first exploratory week with an Intro to the Library orientation. Many students visited the library during their English and reading classes for book tastings and independent book selections. Veterinary Science seniors worked on researching and writing about animal diseases. All juniors came to the library to set up their portfolio pages for this year. Seniors set up their portfolios and started their bi-weekly Senior Project library check-ins.
Resource Spotlight: Sora eBooks
Audiobooks, anyone?
Sora is a reading and listening website and app from OverDrive and Minuteman High School. Geared towards schools, Sora is the equivalent of the Libby app for public libraries. Sora can be accessed by direct link, Classlink, or by downloading the Sora app.
With Sora, students and staff can access a large collection of eBooks and audiobooks for independent reading using a computer, mobile device, tablet, or eReader. Our partnership with the Massachusetts Library System Commonwealth e-Books Collection provides a vast collection of books.
Check out this overview video. Learn more with this overview video, review the Sora page on the library media center website, or stop by the library.
Join Book Club
Join the Minuteman Book Club after school in the library on the last Monday of each month.
Our first meeting is FREE CHOICE. Bring a book idea to share or recommend, and pick up a copy of our spooky first book. Join us for good books, company, discussion, and snacks! See you on Monday, September 30th!
Make Your Mark
Our craft this month is bookmark making.
Stop by any time the library is open to make your own bookmark by coloring, using stencils, or both. When you're done creating, grab a case and a tassel for your bookmark.
It's Never Too Late to Return Your Overdue Library Books
This copy of Dune by Frank Herbert was checked out in 1994 and returned in 2024!
It's the Last Day to Vote: MA Teen Choice Book Awards
The Massachusetts' Teen Choice Book Award is the only award in the Bay State that invites students in grades 7-12 to select their top new books of the year!
The list of nominees has been curated by a committee of public librarians, school library media specialists and educators. Teens are invited to vote for their favorite books. Friday, September 20th is the last day to vote. Click the photo to vote! Thanks for reading!
