Cedar Grove Friday Flash
August 30, 2024
Dear Cedar Grove Families:
Welcome to our new and returning students to the 2024-2025 school year! We have had a wonderful first week and a great start to this new year. Staff worked hard to prepare for your children, and they came into the building with lots of smiles and excitement. We are looking forward to another great year of teaching and learning here at Cedar Grove!
A huge thank you to our PTA for our new sensory hallway. Sensory hallways provide numerous benefits for students including engagement in their academic work, helps to develop fine and gross motor skills, helps improve attention spans and concentration, and much more. The students are enjoying the beautiful hallway!
Also, thank you to all of our families for attending movie night last Friday. It was a nice time to come together, see old friends, and meet new friends before the school year started. We appreciate the PTA for kicking off the year with this fun evening, and these events are only possible through your partnership with our school. We hope you will consider joining the PTA, as your membership and support makes events such as this possible. In the PTA section near the end of this newsletter, you will find membership information and some of the events that are planned so far. We look forward to working together to benefit our kids.
Students will continue to use their Chromebooks during the school day. Please click on this link and take a few minutes to review the expectations for student use with your child/children. Also, please note the costs to repair or replace the Chromebook if damage occurs. Thank you.
Fan Friday will start on Friday, September 13 and will last for 10 weeks, ending on November 22. Fan Friday is designed to bring everyone together as a team, to have fun, and to show good sportsmanship. Students can wear any kind of sports jersey every Friday (football, baseball, soccer, etc.). If students don't have a sports shirt, they may make one from an old T-shirt as long as they get permission from their parents. Please contact Mr. Jansson if you have any questions or need any more details.
As a reminder, there is no school on Monday due to the Labor Day holiday. Have a wonderful weekend.
