Don’t forget that career portfolios, county and state award applications, 4-H Council senior scholarships and Diamond Clover forms are all due in the office by Thursday, October 1st. You must turn in a career portfolio to be eligible for the livestock auction scholarship and county awards. More information is available online at http://jefferson.unl.edu/4-Hforms. You will all receive a letter with application forms in the mail as well with instructions on how to fill out the forms for certain awards. If you need a copy of your Diamond Clover form that was submitted in April, please call the office and we can send it to you.
HELP WITH CAREER PORTFOLIOS
Are you ever confused on how to fill out your career portfolio application? Well luckily for all of us there is a tremendous website that features webinars about various 4-H topics and issues.
Check out http://4h.unl.edu/givingyourbestwebseminars and look for the Career Portfolio link to view a webinar that explains the Career Portfolio and how to fill it out. There are some great pointers and suggestions so make sure to take some time and look it up!
CAREER PORTFOLIO JUDGES
Volunteers will be needed to read a neighboring county’s Career Portfolio books sometime in October. If you are interested in helping, please call the Extension Office and offer your services. Benefits include: learning how other 4-H’ers fill-out their books, finding new ideas for projects and visiting with other 4-H volunteers about the recording process.
