Minshew Families -

This week was full of celebrations! We began the week celebrating our Minshew Student Council TEPSA Student Leadership Award at the School Board Meeting where our students and Student Council sponsors were recognized for their contributions to Minshew. The School Board also recognized our very own Miriam Richert, Minshew Secretary, as the MISD Paraprofessional of the Month! We ended our week with our first Colt Celebration! Congratulations to all of the students recognized for their character and academic achievement!

Please note that THIS THURSDAY is picture day! Picture order forms went home on Friday.

Friday is our Bike and Scooter Rodeo! This is a HUGE event for our Minshew students. Please read the information about this event below so that we can ensure a safe environment for all of the additional movement with bikes and scooters. This will be my first ever Bike Rodeo, and I can’t wait!

We live busy lives, and our cars are an important part of making it all happen. And with a little information and a few simple steps, you can keep your children safe and sound in and around cars, from the time they’re in their first car seat to the time they get behind the wheel. National Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 2nd. Enjoy walking, biking or riding a scooter to school on National Walk to School Day.

• Attendance is taken at 9:15 am every day.
• Students are tardy if not in the classroom at 8:00 am.
• The BACK entrance is locked at 8:00 am. All visitors or tardy students must enter through the front door.
• Students coming in after 9:15 am are marked absent.
• Absence notes or emails must be sent within 3 days of the absence to the front office at: MinshewOffice@mckinneyisd.net or via the MISD Report An Absence form.
