Pirate Choir Newsletter

The Wylie Christian Care Center Food Drive will be from October 28 to November 13. We are seeking donations in the form of items or cash. Last year, we brought in over 1500 items as a department and tied with ROTC to win a pizza party. This year, we'd like to meet our number from last year and hopefully exceed it!

If every choir student brought 5 cans or $5, we'd be at 1125 items. Please search in your pantry or grab some extra at the grocery store - we'd like UNEXPIRED, clean (not leaking), and not dented items that someone in need would appreciate. A can of black olives from the back of your parents' cabinet is probably not the best choice. You never know what the person next to you is going through, and a classmate of yours might be receiving some of these items that we collect. Let's take care of each other and the community by having great participation this year!

Click below to see the new basketball concession volunteer opportunities! Students receive choir points! Students need to show up for their volunteer time or communicate with a director if they cannot make their selected time. Do not sign up if you're not sure you can volunteer at that time.

We are so proud of all the amazing 47 students who auditioned for Region and want to congratulate the 34 students that made a Region Choir! We are also so excited for the 15 WHS Pirate Choir singers who are advancing on to Pre-Area Auditions on November 19th at Plano Senior HS! AHMO!

Students who made a Region choir, please mark you calendars for the required Region rehearsal on October 29th from 5:30-8:30 pm at Wylie East HS. All students who made a Region choir are required to attend this rehearsal. Students must also be available for the all day Region Clinic and Concert on November 2nd at Allen High School. Please do NOT sign up for the SAT on November 2nd as this would conflict with your required attendance at All Region Clinic and Concert.

Please add these dates to your family/work calendar, as we work very hard to give the dates to you as soon as possible. Major grade events are highlighted in green. Please do not schedule conflicts on major grade event days.
