Principal's Message
Dear Students and Families,
Well! We made it!
This is the last newsletter of the 24-25 school year! I'd like to thank all of our students for their hard work--and thank all the parents for their support throughout this school year! It really does take a team to help everyone succeed academically!
New School Year
As you probably know, unless you're a graduating senior, the 25-26 school year starts on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 and is a modified day. Next year you will be seeing that SNHS is following the adopted TVUSD calendar more closely! Check it out!
Graduation: Friday, June 6, 2025 Great Oak High School Stadium Ceremony starts at 4:30 pm
For graduating seniors and their families, here are a few main points:
Parents:
Graduates, parents and guests may park in either parking lot, entrances marked on the map below.
Graduation Tickets are not required for entrance, it is first come, first serve in the bleachers.
Only the "home" side of the bleachers will be in use!
Parents/guests proceed to the bleachers and be seated NO LATER THAN 4:15 PM to begin the ceremony promptly at 4:30 pm. Please have all family members arrive together in order to be seated together, if possible.
There will be no standing during the ceremony in aisles, or near the rails, please be considerate of the families sitting behind you.
Strict rules and policies are being applied for the use of the stadium. NO GLITTER, BALLOONS, NOISE MAKERS, AIR HORNS, PARTY POPPERS, SPARKLES, CONFETTI, OR SILLY STRING will be allowed. NO FOOD OR DRINK other than bottled water.
Restrooms will be open and available on the north side of the stadium.
Seniors:
- Please be at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at GOHS by 3:45 pm. BE ON TIME!
- Please come with your gown on and zipped up AND NOTHING IN YOUR HANDS!
- Remember: you must wear shoes, and they shouldn't be stiletto heels as we don't want to ruin the astro-turf!
- “Stoles” and "cords" are only allowed for recognized TVUSD Academic programs and clubs such as AVID, International Baccalaureate, Seal of Biliteracy, etc.
Caps and gowns may NOT be altered without prior administrator approval. Only students from recognized US Native American tribes may decorate their caps. Once completed, students are requested to show administration their finished cap for final approval. If you have any questions, please give us a call.
As per the rest of the district, no Leis (candy, flowers, money) are permitted at graduation. They can be worn AFTER graduation, but not in the graduation.
All graduates at Susan Nelson HS, Rancho Vista HS, and Temecula Valley Adult School (all schools at Sparkman Alternative Education Center) will be graduating together. The ceremony will last around 1 hour and 20 minutes. It is always bright and sunny and a little windy at the GOHS stadium, so come prepared!
If you have any questions please let us know!
It's been a great year, and we know Friday's graduation will be a great culminating event for the 24-25 school year! See you there!
Sincerely,
David Schlottman
Principal

E-Bike Safety
We know that a lot of our students ride a bike or ebike to school!
Please check out the NEW SAFETY GUIDELINES put out by our district office in coordination with local law enforcement. If your student is riding a bike to school this is a must read! There are different laws for each type of bike. Check out those rules linked above.
And, regardless of the type of bike, please know that all students under 18 MUST WEAR A HELMET! That's a good starting point for safety while on a bike! Please review the link above and talk with your student about safe biking to school!
