Classified Staff Week
This week, we are celebrating Classified Staff Week, recognizing the incredible work of our paraprofessionals and other support staff! Paraprofessionals play a vital role in our schools by assisting teachers in the classroom, providing one-on-one or small-group support to students, supervising during recess and lunch, and helping create a positive and supportive learning environment for all children. Their dedication ensures that students receive the extra help they need to succeed academically and socially.
Please join us in appreciating our paraprofessionals and classified staff for their hard work and commitment to our students!
This week Reardan Schools celebrated our OZ-Some parapros with a week of treats and fun.We love and appreciate our paraprofessionals so much! They provide essential support to our students, helping them thrive academically and socially, and they're also a tremendous asset to our teachers, assisting with classroom tasks and instruction. We recognize that their hard work and dedication are key to our school's success, and we couldn't do our jobs effectively without them. Shoutout to our Secondary Paraprofessionals, Ashley, Jason, Amy and Jon (not pictured as he also works in transportation).

Conferences are coming up next week and we would like to invite all parents to attend. March 20 and 21 are NON-student days. Ms. Newsum is reaching out to some specific families to schedule a conference, however, any parent is welcome to call Christina in the HS office and she can make an appointment as well. All scheduled conferences will be held in Mrs. Koch’s classroom in the High School building. This spring we are participating in the Showcase of Learning with an Open House style time from 5-7:30pm on Thursday, March 20th. Bring your student and have him or her walk you around their classrooms and talk about their work and accomplishments so far this year. You can also check out some of the other classrooms, meet the high school teachers and see what is in store for the future. It’s going to be a great evening, and our teachers are hoping to see all of you there.
Attendance is our March behavior focus. Establishing good attendance habits is crucial for students, as research indicates that students who are chronically absent (10% or more = 18 school days per year) have a much greater risk of school failure and higher drop-out rates . Please encourage your student to have good attendance and always communicate with the school if your child is absent. Our attendance line is 509.381.1312 or email attendance@reardansd.net Students with 85% or higher attendance for the month of March and no major office referrals will be invited to attend our end of the month celebration.
Spring is on the way, and our beloved Mushu is awake! Look for him in Mrs. Koch’s room when you visit!

Security Corner
Hi parents,
Concerns over student vehicle and traffic safety continue to rise, prompting school officials and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office to enhance traffic enforcement, awareness, and upholding school vehicle rules and policies
Recently, parents, staff, and community members have voiced worries about student safety near roadways. Speeding vehicles, distracted driving, and unsafe crossings are persistent hazards. Fortunately, dedicated staff and student volunteer safety patrollers are working diligently to protect students and promote safe commuting habits.
We all have a role to play in keeping our children safe. From drivers obeying speed limits and stop signs, to parents reinforcing road safety at home, this is a community effort. School Resource Deputies will heighten their presence to monitor traffic violations near school campuses.
Parents are encouraged to speak with student drivers about responsible driving—adhering to speed limits, yielding to pedestrians, and avoiding distractions such as cell phones. Likewise, students who walk to and from school should be reminded to use crosswalks, stay alert, look both ways before crossing, and wear bright or reflective clothing in low-light conditions.
Community members can contribute by following traffic laws, staying vigilant for student pedestrians, and volunteering for school safety patrols. Experts emphasize that ongoing education and enforcement are key to preventing accidents and ensuring student safety.
With Prom approaching this weekend, it is more important than ever to discuss traffic safety with our students. To reinforce this message, Deputy Martin will address 7th-12th grade students at Friday’s assembly.
