It is with great pleasure that I announce Dana Gaetano as Kingsway Regional High School’s new (12th Grade) Assistant Principal, effective January 2, 2025. Dana will replace Assistant Principal Farid Syed.
Dana has been a valued member of the Kingsway community since joining us as a High School Special Education Teacher on September 5, 2018. Beyond the classroom, Dana serves as President of the Kingsway Education Association (KEA), where her thoughtful and collaborative leadership has greatly benefited our district.
With over 20 years of experience in education, Dana brings a robust background in leadership. She has previously served as Director of Educational Technology at St. Mark’s High School and Principal at St. Elizabeth Middle School. Admissions Reminders for Seniors
Here are some quick December admissions reminders for Seniors.
- Hold onto your Hearts - As you hear back from early decision and early action schools, remember you have done everything you could to put your best foot forward. If the decision does not go your way, it is not a reflection of you, your potential, or who you are.
- Log into your Portals - Continue logging into your portals and checking to see if colleges need anything else from you.
- Update Naviance and your School Counselor - Make sure to update Naviance as your admission decisions roll in but make sure you keep your counselor up to date as well.
- Check-in with your Recommenders - Now is a good time to give them a good old fashioned written thank you. Also let them know how your decisions are going.
- Check for Interview Info - If they offer an optional interview, take it!
- If You Are Deferred - Make sure to write a Letter of Continued Interest (LOCI) unless the college specifically says not to. Do this mid January when you know the admissions staff are back in their offices. Also make sure to follow any specific instructions they give you as you are given the deferred decision.

NJ Tiered Systems of Supports at Kingsway
The Kingsway Regional School District is enhancing its academic and social-emotional supports through the New Jersey Tiered System of Supports (NJTSS). NJTSS is an evidence-based framework that helps ensure all students receive the instruction, social-emotional/behavioral support, and interventions they need to succeed. By using various data sources, Kingsway educators target classroom instruction more effectively and continually monitor student progress, making necessary adjustments to support both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. This approach seeks to ensure that every student receives the right support at the right time. Click here to learn more.
See Something, Do Something at KRHS
What is Anonymous Alerts?
Anonymous Alerts allows students, parents, and other school personnel to anonymously submit any sensitive or urgent student issues quickly to school officials. Students, parents, and school personnel can submit reports such as bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, hazing, drug or alcohol use during school, vaping during school, threats against the school, and more. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.
In an immediate emergency, always call 9-1-1.
Anonymous Alerts is monitored between 6:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday when school is in session. Outside of these hours, please directly contact an administrator.

SMART - Have a Purpose and Plan
Each day, we communicate to students that they must have a plan for SMART Lunch (both L1 and L2). Students have access to a SMART Weekly Schedule in order to help them plan. Students are expected to be in a location for both L1 and L2. The graphic provides the letter days that academic departments are available during SMART. Please speak with your child/children about having a plan for SMART.
Here is the SMART Weekly calendar that students are sent each week. This will help students/parents to know what clubs/activities are meeting each week as well as what teachers are available during L1 or L2.

Student Chromebooks: Expectations for the 2024-2025 SY
Our 1:1 Chromebook initiative supports student learning in and outside of the classroom. The district-issued device is part of each student's necessary classroom supplies, similar to a pencil, book, or paper. All students are expected to attend every class, every day prepared with a fully charged, district-issued Chromebook with the charging cord. We highly recommend designating a location in your home for the device to charge at night and to be easily placed in the student's backpack in the morning.
