PreACT scores were sent home December 10. Sophomores have access to a video that helps them how to read their report letter on their class Teams. The video is also attached below. Before break, the Southwest High School choir and band completed their Christmas concerts. Thank you to Mr. Barton, Mr. Story and Mr. Dennis for your leadership of these music programs! Also, the SWHS staff would like to extend a congratulations to Mr. Story on his retirement!

Over the break the men's varsity basketball team competed in the Onslow County Holiday Tournament. The team took home second place in the tournament with wins over White Oak High and Lejuene High. The JV boy's and both varsity teams also gained huge wins in the conference opener against Wallace Rose-Hill. This week the basketball teams will travel to North Lenoir High on Tuesday, January 7 and South Lenoir on Friday, January 10. There is also a home matchup against Kinston High School on Wednesday, January 8. Tickets for the home game vs. Kinston can be purchased using the link below.

The wrestling had a great showing at the East Carteret Nor Easter on December 21st, both Adriana Miller and Esteban Placencia were undefeated in all of their matches. Way to go Stallions!! Also, Ashton & Desmond Mitchell placed 3rd at the USAF Eagles Invitational on December 14th. Esteban Placencia placed fourth. The wrestling teams will participate in the Richlands County Cup on Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11.
