Project Excellence Nominations are Open!
The Project Excellence Committee of the Area Progress Council of Warren County, Inc. seeks to recognize and honor excellent teachers within the public schools in Warren County.
We ask your assistance in identifying exceptional educators who demonstrate excellence in instruction or innovative teachers who have pioneered a teaching method. The educator must hold a current teaching certificate and work for the public school system.

National Park System Project
4th-grade students have been working on a mini research unit in their media classes focusing on our National Park system. Students enjoyed a picture book read aloud together to learn about the history of our parks, and have then been using a variety of types of media to learn about parks that are interesting to them. Students worked with magazine articles, nonfiction texts, websites and a multimedia slide deck to gather information.
For their efforts, students have been provided with a voucher for a FREE pass to our National Parks and lands via the "Every Kid Outdoors" program. The vouchers (an $85 value!) were sent home with students as they wrap up their work this week and families should keep an eye out for them to come home. For more information families can visit https://everykidoutdoors.gov/index.htm to help plan their next adventures.
Every Kid Outdoors. You and your family get free access to hundreds of parks, lands, and waters for an entire year. How it works
LMES Rube Goldberg Project
The entire 4th grade participated in a school wide Rube Goldberg Cereal Box experiment this week! Each class created a section of the experiment and using the scientific method created methods that would make the boxes fall like one long chain of Dominoes.
This challenge required teamwork not only within the classroom but also from classroom to classroom. In addition to this being a fantastic learning experience, all of the boxes of cereal used for this experiment are being donated to Joshua’s Place, the Little Miami Food Bank and the Kings Food Bank.
Way to go Panthers! 💚💛 Thank you, Mrs. Horton, for heading this amazing project up!
West Point Society of Cincinnati Leadership Conference
Congratulations to Grayer Williams and Ana Aguiar for being nominated to represent Little Miami at the West Point Society of Cincinnati Leadership Conference. They were selected by a staff vote as top juniors with ethical leadership skills. Both students will attend a seminar, have six follow-up meetings to practice ethical leadership, and be eligible for a scholarship.

Alumni Spotlight
Career Experiences Alumni Spotlight!
Gabrielle Witherspoon graduated from Little Miami and the Warren County Career Center in 2019. Equipped with her cosmetology license, Gabrielle wasted no time gaining hands-on experience in the industry. Through these experiences, Gabrielle discovered her true niche, special FX makeup, prosthetics, props and set pieces!
Knowing she needed proper training, Gabrielle attended the Vocational Academy of Makeup and Prosthetics in Orlando, FL and immediately started building industry connections. Those connections led her to LF Studios in Cincinnati where she worked on multiple projects, including many props/set pieces for Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Disney World!
Currently, Gabrielle is working for Universal Studios in Orlando as a Figure Finisher for the soon-to-open Epic Universe! @lmcareerexperiences

New Interpreter Lines for Little Miami Families
As part of our commitment to effective communication with our families, we are excited to announce that we now have three dedicated phone lines available for families who speak Uzbek, Russian, or Spanish. By calling these numbers, families will first be connected to an interpreter before being routed to the district office and the appropriate building.

Fiscal Focus
Since Fiscal Year (FY)15 to our most recently completed school year, FY24, the district has seen an average increase of 162 students per year (3.38%). This has resulted in an increase of 1,456 students over this time period to a total enrollment of 5,765 (FY24).
Despite the significant student growth LM has seen over the years, we have strategically stretched out the funds generated from the passage of the 2011 Emergency Levy of $10.6 million for more than thirteen years! These funds represent approximately 18% of LM’s total operating budget and are vital to the district’s financial health. We are so thankful to the community for investing in the future of our students!
With careful planning and monitoring of the district’s increasing growth in enrollment, the Board and LM administration will continue to provide the best opportunities available to our students in the most economical ways possible.

Imagination Library - ENROLL TODAY
DID YOU KNOW? By the age of three, a child’s brain is already 80% developed, and, by the time a child enters kindergarten, they must already know thousands of words in order to succeed in the classroom. Reading aloud to a child and giving them access to books is the best way to ensure they are prepared to enter kindergarten.
The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library wants to start a new chapter in early childhood literacy throughout Ohio by providing families with books. With the goal of preparing students entering Kindergarten for success in the classroom, the Imagination Library program will send a customized book to your child each month from birth until age five. Sign up is easy and FREE! Give your Panther the gift of reading & enroll today.
