Principal's Post
*Please be sure to read our newsletter through, as this is where you'll receive important information and updates as our year continues.
Dear Students & Parents/Guardians,
February is here! With that comes a whole host of events and activities for our Acacia community. Please read though the entire Smore as I do not want anyone to miss out on any of the events we have planned this month.
Also, we will begin out ELPAC testing during the month of February. With ELPAC testing now upon us, we encourage all of our families to ensure they are taking time to read nightly with their students.
GO CUBS!

Principal

Help Support our 5th Grade SEM Group with their Community Service Project!
Support Our Student Store and Community Service Project!
Some of our 5th grade SEM group students are working on a meaningful community service project through the organization Changemakers. As part of this effort, they’ve chosen to support two impactful local organizations:
- The Bumblebee Foundation, which provides assistance to families navigating pediatric cancer. This choice is especially significant as it honors the memory of a former student who passed away due to pediatric cancer. 💚
- The Iskander Foundation, established to honor the memory of two young boys who were tragically lost in a Westlake crosswalk accident. 💚
To help make this project a success, they will be running a student store after the New Year, and proceeds will go toward supporting these causes. You can support the effort by contributing items from their ➡️ Amazon Wish List.
Thank you for helping our students make a difference in our community!
Sales End on January 31st!

Entrance Gate and Parking Lot Reminders
To alleviate parking lot congestion and to reduce large numbers of students in the same location, we ask that you use grade-level designated gates at drop-off and pick-up. Thank you!
- Specialized Program (Special Education): In front of the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR), teachers and/or paraeducators will meet/walk out with students.
- Drop-Off:
- Pick-Ups:
TK - Gate 5
Kindergarten: Gate 4
First-Fifth Grades: Gate 1
*Optional for Fourth-Fifth Grades: Gate 7 (on Dover Avenue)
- Sibling may enter/exit together at the gate that is designated for the youngest student
Parking Lot Reminders:
- Blue accessible parking spaces are only for those with DP placards or license plates
- Please respect our reserved parking spots for principal and school staff
- Please do not stop in red zones for any reason, even to quickly drop off a student or to run into the office
- Do not exit your vehicle in the parking lot unless you have parked in a designated parking spot
- The yellow zone is for loading and unloading only - we will require you to move your vehicle if you are stationary in a yellow zone without a student leaving or entering your vehicle
- Please have students exit and enter the vehicles on the passenger side (sidewalk side) of the vehicles. We do not want students exiting vehicles into traffic.
- Be attentive for pedestrians and courteous at all times
