Reminders for 5 Day In Seat School Start Up- Monday, April 5
We are SO excited to welcome students back after spring break! As a courtesy, we will be running this reminder information in the next few upcoming newsletters so that you will be able to refer to it easily. Thank you for preparing your student and family members with this information so that all of us will be able to have a successful and smooth transition.
- In-seat students will be coming to school Monday through Friday (starting April 5th) and our virtual students will continue to have classes 5-days, Monday through Friday, virtually.
Beginning April 5th there will no longer be Zoom classes for students signed up for in-seat. If an in-seat student is absent they should plan on getting the work that they missed through Schoology or contact their teacher.
- When we return to in person 5 days per week school on Monday, April 5th, we will be starting our quarter 4/rotation 4 student schedules. This means that sixth grade students will be starting their last rotation of elective classes and that 6th-8th grade students will ALL be transitioning to their fourth quarter core classes.
- Students should continue to wear a mask (that covers their nose and mouth) to school each day.
- Though social distancing will not be possible on the bus, riders will still be placed in assigned seats and will continue to be expected to wear a mask on the bus.
- Students will not be assigned lockers when we return to 5 days a week in seat school. Students should instead plan to continue using their backpacks for the reminder of the school year.
- As always our school day will begin at 7:30 am and dismiss at 2:35 pm. Students will not be able to gain access into the building until 7:05 am each day.
- We are unable to accept drop off items (iPads, charging bricks/cables, lunches, phones, etc.) after 9:00 am each day. Please encourage your student to organize and pack their backpack the night before.
- Breakfasts and lunches will continue to remain free of charge for students for the remainder of the 2020/2021 school year.
- Students will continue to sit in assigned seats at lunch and in classrooms. The seating charts will be preestablished by our lunchroom supervisors and teachers.
- We are not hosting after school clubs or activities at this time (except for our track and field team and our soon to be Musical Theatre Showcase participants). If your student has been participating in an after school club or activity via Zoom, they should plan on continuing in this fashion when we return to 5 days a week in seat school days.
- Parents will need to contact the main office (214-3240) any time their student will be absent from 5 day in seat school. If your student will be absent due to a medical appointment, please be sure to get a medical excuse from your student’s physician and have your student bring this to the main office when they return to school. Parents of virtual only learners should continue to email your child’s teacher if they will be absent from Zoom classes.
