Homecoming Dance Information
We look forward to welcoming our students to the 2024 Homecoming Dance this Saturday, September 14th from 7PM to 11PM, with the theme "Summer Loving" inspired by "Teen Beach Movie." Please review the important information below about the dance.
Arrival Information (See Map Below)
All students and guests will use the Pirate Nation Way gate to enter campus.
Students will be dropped off in the regular car rider line at the front of the school.
Student drivers will park in the back student parking lot.
All students and guests will enter through the front (main entrance) to the building.
Students and guests must present a valid photo ID (student ID, digital student ID or government-issued photo ID) at arrival. IDs will be compared to the ticket number that was sold to the student.
Tickets are non-transferrable, if the name on the student ID does not match the name on the ticket that was sold, the student will not be admitted.
No tickets are sold at the door.
No large bags or backpacks are allowed. Students may bring a small clutch-style purse if needed. There is no bag check and we do not have the ability to store/hold student belongings.
All students will be administratively searched upon entry to the dance.
Students may not have any prohibited items, including weapons (including pepper spray/personal defense items), drugs, alcohol or nicotine products.
If students carry medication, including over the counter medication, please ensure that proper documentation is on file with the clinic.
- Door will open at 7PM. ALL STUDENTS AND GUESTS MUST ENTER BEFORE 9PM. No students or guests will be admitted after 9PM.
Dance Information
Drinks and snacks will be on sale in the cafeteria by our Culinary Students. Cash, card and mobile payment is accepted.
Ice water will be available to all students and guests free of charge in the cafeteria.
Students will have access to the courtyard, cafeteria and gymnasium during the dance. No students are permitted anywhere else on campus. Chaperones will be supervising all locations.
There is no re-entry for the dance. Once a student exits, they will not be allowed back in for any reason.
End of Night Info (See Map Below)
Parents picking up students at the end of the night will enter the Pirate Nation Way gate and drive around the back of campus to the bus loop where students will be waiting for pick up. Once your student is in your car, you will drive around the bus loop and exit campus out of the Matanzas Woods gate. Please follow staff directions, stay in the line, and watch for pedestrians. There is a long line for pick up, please be patient.
Student drivers will exit campus via the Pirate Nation Way gate.

ASVAB Testing Information
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test battery in the world. As an aptitude test, the ASVAB measures your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. The ASVAB also provides you with career information for various civilian and military occupations and is an indicator for success in future endeavors whether you choose to go to college, vocational school, or a military career. Even if you do not choose to enlist right after High School your scores are good for enlisting for up to two years from the date of testing.
The ASVAB have been scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2024 during periods 1-4 in Room 5-210. Please stop by the testing office #10-216, or 1Sgt. Caraballo's classroom #5-210 to sign-up. Priority will be given to seniors and juniors due to limited seating.

All fees must be satisfied before students may participate in school events such as school dances, and all fees must be satisfied prior to graduation. October SAT and ACT Registration Deadline
Juniors and Seniors - The registration deadline for the October 26th SAT and October 5th ACT is Friday September 20th!
College application early deadlines are typically prior to Thanksgiving Break, with several Florida college deadlines as early as October 15th. Most 4 year colleges require college entrance exam scores as part of the admissions requirements. Be sure to check your prospective college's admissions pages for recommended scores.

Do you still need to pass the Algebra 1 or ELA exam? If you have not yet met the English Language Arts (ELA) and Math exam test score requirements for high school graduation, you can also take the ACT, CLT and/or SAT exams to work towards meeting the concordant score needed for graduation.

Upcoming Guidance Presentations
The School Counseling Team will begin conducting grade level presentations on Friday September 20th. These presentations share grade-level specific information for college and career exploration and preparation. Students in each grade level will receive an informational packet after the meeting. The presentations will be shared on our Guidance webpage if parents would like to review the information as well.
Presentations will be conducted in the Pirate Theater - any students who do not have the designated course on campus (DSC, iFlagler, etc) please plan to attend during any available class period.

Between now and October 15th, each 12th grader will meet with his or her counselor one on one to discuss their college and career planning for after high school. Each 12th grader received an email from his or her counselor with specific instructions for how to make this important appointment. Please check in with your senior to ensure they have scheduled their appointment.

🎓 Senior Class Information 🎓
Cap and Gown Ordering Information
Rhodes Graduation Services is now taking orders for Cap & Gown and other senior items including graduation announcements and Class of 2025 Swag! The group order deadline is September 8th for seniors who want to receive their swag at the senior delivery day of September 18th (cap and gown delivery will be April 4, 2025).
Note: students are not required to purchase a graduation package, families may choose to order individual items, including cap & gown by scrolling down to "Shop All Graduation Products" on the Jostens website. Look for "Custom Cap/Gown/Tassel/Medallion Unit" which includes a cap, gown and tassel. The school medallions are provided by MHS to all students on the day of graduation.
