24 - 25 Parent Newsletter - Issue #21
Welcome back, Golden Bear Families!
As we wrap up Week 1 of Semester II, we hope everyone had the opportunity to rest and recharge over the holiday break. Our winter athletes, however, remained hard at work, continuing their practices and competitions throughout the break. Please take a moment to check out the section of this newsletter that highlights their recent events and achievements.
Our certificated staff also hit the ground running, participating in a half-day of professional development focused on sharing best practices for connecting students with content across all disciplines. It is truly a privilege to be part of a community of educators so deeply committed to the art of teaching and to the success of our students.
A special thank you to our ASB and GBTV students for an outstanding job in kicking off the second semester with an exciting rally on Friday. They unveiled the theme for this year’s prom—“Here We Go Again!”—and created a spirited atmosphere that energized the entire school. The rally showcased our winter athletic teams, highlighted our diverse CTE programs, and featured dynamic performances by our dance, swing, cultural, and cheer teams. There were also fun games with staff and students, and even the administrative team joined in the festivities!
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Job & Career Fair on Tuesday, January 14th. This event will take place in the TVHS Quad, where students will have the opportunity to engage with over 30 college and career representatives from a wide range of fields. There will also be government vehicles on display for students to explore. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with potential future pathways.
Additionally, we are pleased to begin iPad distribution for our 9th graders this Thursday and Friday. As part of the District’s initiative, our 9th grade students will be the first to receive iPads for the remainder of the 2024-2025 academic year. Next year, we will continue distributing iPads to other grade levels. Students will retain their Chromebooks, giving them the benefit of having two devices for a period of time, as we integrate iPads into daily instruction. We will keep families informed with further details as we move forward with this rollout.
We are looking forward to a productive and engaging semester and are grateful for the ongoing support and partnership from our community. Go Bears!
Mrs. Lione
Congratulations

TVHS Athletics has gone international! Last week, our Wrestling and Baseball programs had the honor of hosting student-athletes from Japan. After engaging in tours and cultural exchanges, the teams came together for some exciting games. It was an incredible opportunity to connect with athletes from across the globe, learn from each other, and compete in a spirit of camaraderie. Most importantly, everyone had a fantastic time! A big thank you to our Wrestling and Baseball coaches for organizing this unforgettable experience.
Our Lady Golden Bear Wrestlers participated in the Western Lady Pioneer Challenge. Great job to all of our wrestlers for showing their grit and athleticism on the mat!

Important Eligibility Reminder: January 10, 2025, was the academic eligibility date for student-athletes, based on their first semester report card. Please check with your athlete if you have concerns about their eligibility. For those who became ineligible, the next eligibility check will be at progress reports on March 21, 2025.
We’ve got a lot of action this week, and it’s going to be a great one for Golden Bear sports! Come out and show your support!
On Saturday night, our TVHS Dance teams took part in the Studios Unite Show for "Dancers for Cancer" (DAC). Dancers from Temecula, Murrieta, and studios across Southern California gathered to support this incredible cause. A special moment of the evening was when our very own Ella Vollmer was celebrated for her triumph over cancer! It was an inspiring and artistic night filled with powerful performances and a shared sense of hope.
