Our newly formed SCA in collaboration with the Equity Team are organizing a canned food drive for the Month of November. These canned goods will be shipped to hurricane relief organizations after the effects of the recent hurricane. Students may bring in cans of food and there will be several boxes around the school to deposit their can. This will end Friday the 22nd. There will be a morning show starting in November reminding students. Thank you in advance so much for your thoughtful donations!
THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING!!!
Dear Parents and Families:
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from November 18-22 at Lowes Island Elementary library.
Parents are welcome to come to the Book Fair with their child's class. Come to the school when your child's class will be attending the Book Fair and enjoy the Book Fair with your child. We are also having an evening event on November 21st from 430-630 pm. As you finish shopping you can take in our school musical, The Lion King, which will take place at 6:30 in the gym.
Link for the classroom shopping schedule.
We take cash, credit cards and checks but an easy way to pay is to create an eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.
Click here for the website to create your eWallet for your child.
Also, teachers will create an eWallet to share with their classroom community as a way for parents to donate to their child's classroom library. The teacher will then use the donated funds to purchase books of their choosing for the classroom library. Click on the links below to donate.
You are also welcome to shop for a book at the fair to donate to the classroom library.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.
Thank you for your support!
