Habit 6- Let's Synergize!
Together is Better
Together is Better!
Did you know that you can work with your family? It is important to use the skills we have been practicing in all areas of our lives.
Review:
1. Value Differences
2. Seek 3rd Alternatives
While you are at home, you can practice synergizing with your family members.
Watch this video about teamwork and synergizing!
Table Talk
The speaker talks about working together or synergizing. Each of you has different talents and abilities that when put together can accomplish much more than just one person!
- What does TEAM mean?
- What are some of the positives that he talked about?
- What are some negatives?
- When was a time that you were on a team?
- How can you be a good team member? (Remember the synergize steps for working out problems!)
Challenge
Choose one (or more) activities to do with your family this week to synergize!
Discuss the synergy action plan before you start your activity.
- Work together to plan and cook a meal together.
- Make an obstacle course out of items in your house. Blindfold one person. Work together to guide them through the maze!
- Build a tower. Use blocks, playing cards, plastic cups, or whatever you have around. How high can you make it?
- Create an add-on story. One person starts the story, and after a couple of sentences, the next person adds to the story. Keep going as long as you want! This activity could be done virtually with friends as well! Make sure you have your parent's permission when using technology.
- Work together as a family to make a fun video to send to other family members.
Reflection
- How did you synergize during the activity?
- Take a picture of your family practicing habit 6 and email it to me! I would love to see how you are all working together!

Synergy Action Plan
It is sometimes difficult to come to a consensus when working together to solve a problem.
Students have learned the following steps for synergizing this month.
2. Share your views
3. Think of solutions
4. Work together to choose the best solution.
Challenge:
Think of a problem that needs to be solved. Examples might be getting up on time, doing chores or getting school work done. Use the steps to work together towards a solution.
Take 15 minutes to set aside a day where everyone stops what they are doing and works together to get something done around the house. How does the work go quicker?
Thought for the Week
"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress.
Working together is success."
Henry Ford
