Hello JES Family!
It started off a little chilly Monday morning, but overall, what a beautiful week! I hope that your family has been able to get outside during the evening to enjoy this amazing Texas weather. I can say that I may have spent a little extra time outside with the kids at recess this week!
Our kids had such a great experience Tuesday learning about dinosaurs and other fossils during their visit to the Dinosaur George Traveling Museum. A huge thank you to our PTO for sponsoring this experience for our kids and to our Science Lab teacher, Ms. Paschall, for setting it up.
Our 3rd and 4th grade students will be taking the STAAR Reading assessments on Monday and Tuesday. Please remember that our campus will be closed to visitors and volunteers all day on those testing days, including lunch. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Finally, we need your help spreading the word that Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is open! So far we only have 47 students registered! Registering students early helps us make sure we are appropriately staffed. More information can be found at this link.
Thank you for your continued support of our campus. Please know that I am so grateful for the opportunity you have given me to serve this beautiful community, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any compliments or concerns to share.

Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast
We are truly thankful for our many wonderful JES volunteers who provide us with countless hours of assistance throughout the year! As a small token of our appreciation, we would like to celebrate you with breakfast and say "Thank You" for making our lives easier through your generous donation of time and talents.
The JES Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast will be held on Thursday, April 24th at 8:00 am in the JES Library. We would love to have you join us! If you are able to attend, please RSVP using this link by Tuesday, April 22nd. Littles are welcome!
Welcome Daisy!
We are so excited to introduce Mrs. Bailey's new counseling assistant! Daisy is a 10-week old Golden Retriever, who lives with the Bailey family and looks forward to being a part of our community. For this semester, when Daisy is on campus, she will spend her time mostly in Mrs. Bailey's office as she acclimates to her new environment. The goal is for Daisy to ultimately be a certified therapeutic partner to our students and staff as she grows up. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
2025-2026 Class Placement Parent Survey
As we begin our work assigning our current K-3 students to classes for the 2025-2026 school year, we would like to invite parents to submit input on their student that might help us with this process. If you would like to participate, please submit this form by Friday, May 2nd.
Please remember that this information is shared with your child's current grade level teachers, so if you have feedback that you do not want to be shared with the teachers, please email that information directly to Mr. Holladay.
PLEASE HELP US GET THE WORD OUT!!!
Registration for Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year is open for Carroll ISD residents with students who are 5 years old by September 1, 2025. Information on Kindergarten Registration can be found at this link!

Picture Wall
We have a fun JES tradition where, for the month of May, our PTO will hang both a Kindergarten picture and 4th grade picture (side by side) of each of our 4th graders in the main hall. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please send in a 4x6 of your child in Kindergarten and 4th Grade (preferably their school pictures or a copy) in a zip lock bag or envelope with your child’s name and teacher's name by April 17th. You can send this with your child to give to their teacher or drop off at the front office. At 4th grade graduation you will be able to take your pictures with you.
4th Grade Tour of DIS Set for May 15th
As part of our efforts to support a smooth transition from JES to DIS, our 4th-grade students will be visiting DIS on Thursday, May 15th for a campus tour. This visit will provide students with an opportunity to become familiar with their future school, meet key staff members, and learn about the expectations and opportunities awaiting them next year.
During the visit, students will:
- Take a guided tour of the DIS campus
- Learn about daily routines, schedules, and important locations (cafeteria, library, gym, etc.)
- Meet some of the teachers and staff who will be supporting them in 5th grade
- Hear from current EIS students about their experiences and advice for a successful transition
This visit is a great opportunity to ease any worries and get our students excited about this next step in their educational journey!
