Junior To Do List

Juniors! This is a simple guide outlining things you may want to start thinking about for your plans after graduation:

1. Register for SAT/ACT if you plan to attend a four year institution.

2. Complete several college searches using Naviance and College Board. Visit websites of colleges that interest you. You can also request information to be mailed to you directly from the college website. Many colleges are offering virtual tours as well!

3. Prepare a list of schools that meet your interests and needs.

4. Make sure your resume is up to date!

Junior Preview Day at UMass Lowell

Junior Preview Day will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 8:30 a.m. EST. We’re excited to share what UMass Lowell is all about and to help students decide if it’s the place for them.

Top 10 Tips for Filing FASFA

For those of you applying for financial aid for the first time (and even for those of you who are seasoned pros), the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available to file. Make sure you check each college's deadline and submit your FAFSA on time. Most student aid programs have limited funds, so you don't want to be late with your applications.

2022–23 Academic Year

The FAFSA form must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Central time (CT) on June 30, 2023. Any corrections or updates must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CT on Sept. 10, 2023.

College FAFSA Deadlines

Each college may have its own deadline. Check with the college(s) you’re interested in attending. You may also want to ask your college about its definition of an application deadline. Is it the date your FAFSA form is processed or the date the college receives your processed FAFSA data?

Massachusetts:

May 1, 2022

For priority consideration, submit your application on May 1, 2022, by midnight Central time.

Spring Work Experience

Subsidized Work Experience for Young Adults age 16-21

The next round of work experience starts starts April 4 with Work Ready Week! Followed by 10 weeks of subsidized employment. All participants earn $14.25 per hours for 15-20 hours per week of work.
