5th Graders win Penny Wars!
Students in Grades 4-7 participated in Penny Wars! WE RAISED OVER $900.00 for the Student Activity Fund. The winning team was Grade 5 who was then treated to a KONA ice truck this week. Students in Grades K-3 have started their Penny Wars this week. It will run until November 14th! The students LOVE it! Congratulations to 5th Grade and special thanks to Mrs. Bartlett, our Director of Instruction for organizing such a wonderful thing for our students. When you enter our Cafetorium, you can see the excitement from students wanting to participate in Penny Wars. We are looking forward to continuing this at Bedminster School in the future.
Halloween Events
October 2016
We have many awesome things going on here at Bedminster School. Students are learning, creating, challenging themselves, maturing, laughing, and smiling. This is only one month into the school year. Think of how much better and brighter things will be as the months continue.
I wanted to share with you something that many of you may have seen. Mr. Schantz, who is one of our PE/Health teachers shared this with me because he thought that I would enjoy it. Well, he was right. Jamie McSparin,a teacher from Oak Park High School in Kansas City, Missouri saw a project in a Professional Development Workshop and tweaked it to make it her own. I was able to contact Jamie who has been flooded with media and other educators ever since trying to talk to her about it. Luckily I got to her right after the video went viral. I have seen first hand how much all of our teachers care about our students so this video struck a chord with me. Please take the time to view it as it is well worth it. I have attached it below for your viewing pleasure.

Activity Participation Fees
At the September 15, 2016 Board of Education Meeting, the Bedminster Board of Education acted on a budget proposal to require Activity Fees from the parents of students participating in extra-curricular activities. The Board approved the following guidelines:
Grades K - 2 ($50 per student participant)
Grades 3 - 5 ($75 per student participant)
Grades 6 - 8 ($100 per student participant)
The fee is considered a "one-time annual fee" regardless of the number of activities in which the student participates. 100% of costs, including chaperone stipends for the Ski Club and 8th grade Washington, D.C. Trip will be borne by the participants;these are in addition to the participation fees stipulated. Certain selected activities that extend the curriculum or service to the community will be at no cost. Activities and clubs will not run if they are not subscribed by at least ten (10) students.
Everyone have an awesome weekend and thank you for all that you do to support our school.
