Miners in the Middle
September 13, 2024
Week of September 16th - 21st
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We need your help reinforcing a few key school rules and procedures that students are currently struggling with:
Personal Electronic Devices: As per the handbook, personal devices (cell phones, smart watches, earpods, etc.) should either be left at home or stored in lockers once school starts. Please remind your child to follow this rule.
Water Bottles: Starting Monday, 9/16, students may only bring clear water bottles to use at the water filling stations. Cups from stores (plastic, styrofoam, metal, etc.) are no longer allowed. The only drinks allowed are vending machine purchases or clear water bottles. Students may bring other drinks only if they pack them with their lunch.
Locker Use: By now, students are expected to know how to open and lock their lockers. Please ensure your child practices this to avoid issues during the day.
Cafeteria Line: We’re experiencing delays in food service as students are not clearly communicating with cafeteria staff. Please remind your child to listen carefully and speak up when going through the line.
Thank you for your support in ensuring a smooth and efficient school day.
Sincerely,
Nicole Green, Principal

Classroom Expectations
These are our school-wide expectations for our students. Positive behavior fosters an environment where ALL students can learn and grow. It is our hope that our HMS families will discuss our school-wide behavior expectations and encourage positive behaviors at school and home.
Common Areas Expectations
Our school-wide expectations extend beyond the classroom. It is important that students also realize they are accountable for their behaviors in the hallway, cafeteria and at all school sponsored activities on and off campus.
