Message from the Principal
Wildcat Families,
As we work our last couple of weeks towards Winter Break, I want to remind you of how important daily and timely attendance is, especially as we work to cement student learning. Student engagement over the next 2 weeks is crucial in helping students build and retain skills through our 2-week winter break. Learning is much more difficult when students aren’t accessing daily instruction, practice and interaction with peers. We know that many families plan family trips and vacations around the holidays and into the new year and I’m hoping to interrupt that planning if possible so that we get students here at school everyday except for unavoidable illness and family emergencies. Here are a few statistics about attendance that really blow my mind as I’m writing this:
Being late to school just 10 minutes a day adds up to missing nearly ½ year of school over 13 years of classes.
Being absent just 1 day every 2 weeks equates to missing 1.5 years of school over 13 years of schooling.
Being at school every day and on time not just impacts academic learning but it builds lifelong habits that are crucial now as they begin to form.
We’re here to partner with you in any way that we can to support your child’s attendance here at school. If there are barriers to attendance or factors that you’d like us to know about, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. You may be hearing from us anyway as we work to partner with you to support student success.
I appreciate your attention to this as we reach this busy and stressful time of year.
Sincerely,
Tim, Principal
Mensaje del Director
Familias Wildcat,
Atentamente,
Tim, Director

Book Fair
The Book Fair is right around the corner! From Dec 9th to12th students can shop during their recess. They have the option to pay with cash or use their eWallet. Be sure to set up your child's eWallet with Scholastic now. Families are also invited to shop after school until 3:15 PM and during Family Reading Night. We need volunteers to set up, run the Book Fair during recesses, afterschool, during evening events, and clean up when we are done. No experience needed! Volunteers will always have a Book Fair Chairperson around and will be trained on the spot.
Family Reading Night
Join us for a fun evening on Wednesday, December 11th, from 5 PM to 7 PM. Explore the book fair, make some fun crafts, enjoy warm cocoa, check out new spirit wear, and much more!We would appreciate your support—consider signing up to volunteer or donating books for the swap to give every child the chance to leave with a book. You can bring books during the event or drop them off at the school's vestibule in advance.
Art Literacy
We are looking forward to our first Art Literacy Day of the school year on Friday, Dec 13th! We need volunteers to assist with our Art Literacy Takeover Day, where each class will do an art project. No art experience needed—just come and enjoy. We encourage volunteers to sign up for multiple time slots; for instance, you can sign up for the first three slots of the day and help with three different grades!
