Slaybaugh School Complex

Dear Slaybaugh Families,

We have now completed our third full week of full day/full-time school. I hope you found this transition to a full week of in person instruction a smooth one. We know these changes can be a challenge at times, but we are pleased to share with you that the children are doing an outstanding job adjusting to our new routine and they appear to really enjoy being back in the building on our regular full-time schedule.

Thank you to our Parents' Club, EHTEA, Renaissance, and families for the many wonderful ways you recognized our teachers during teacher appreciation week. Your support this week and throughout the year is deeply appreciated. We are fortunate to have such a highly dedicated staff of educators here at Slaybaugh.

We have four (4) abbreviated days remaining in this year's calendar-- May 28, June 14, 15 &16. Since we are now on a five day, full day schedule, we will use the same abbreviated schedule that was in place during our hybrid schedule. Dismissal will be at 2:06 pm. We will adhere to this schedule in order to support families and staff by utilizing a schedule that is familiar.

On 5/11 Ms. Bartell's Preschool class began doing an ABC Countdown to Summer (26 days left of school)! There will be an activity/event every day from now until the end of the school year that correlates to each letter of the alphabet! Here is a picture of the class from "A is for Apple Day" on 5/11. They used apples to print on paper.

In just four weeks we will kick off our "Slaybaugh Dance Fit" on June 2nd! Our goal is to raise $8,000 for school activities and to strengthen our school community. This year, more than ever, we need additional funds to provide an excellent educational experience for all of our students.

We completely understand if your family is not in a position to financially support the school right now. You can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at funrun.com. Sharing IS supporting! All students will participate in the "Slaybaugh Dance Fit," regardless of financial participation. We will also be following school safety guidelines to ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone. We appreciate your support more than you know. More details to come as we get closer to kickoff.

The first round of pride gear is in! The Renaissance advisors will be working on getting the orders packed up. We are very excited about the design to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We are still accepting orders, you definitely don't want to miss out on these! Thank you to The Nest at our very own EHT High School for making these amazing shirts a reality!
