Together, we can...
EISD will be offering several opportunities over the next weeks and months for parents to learn about important topics and build capacity together to help our students academically, socially, and emotionally.
You don't have to be a parent to attend. All are welcome!
Annual Title I, Part A School-wide Meeting
As Title I, Part A campuses, Siebert Elementary and Eastland Middle School will be hosting an annual Title I, Part A meeting. These campuses receive Title I funds due to the number of economically disadvantaged students enrolled. Come learn about the Title I program, how these funds are used, and provide your input to better help us serve your student.
The meetings will be offered face-to-face and via Zoom. Specific campus information will be shared, so whether you have an elementary student, middle school student, or both, you will have the opportunity to receive information that pertains to you.

School Health Advisory Council Meeting
A SHAC is a school board appointed advisory group of individuals who represent different segments of the community. By law, a majority of the members must be persons who are parents of students enrolled in the district and who are not employed by the district. The AISD SHAC is made up of parents, community members, students, and school staff working together to improve the health of all students and families through coordinated school health programs. Texas law requires all school districts to have a SHAC.

Suicide Prevention and Awareness
Suicide is now the 2nd leading cause of death among children aged 10-14 and the 3rd leading cause among 15-24 year olds (National Institute of Mental Health). Nearly 20% of high school students report having had serious thoughts about suicide (National Alliance on Mental Illness). It is important to know the signs and what you can do to help someone you love.
If you or a loved one are having thoughts of self-harm or need immediate support, you can contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255/TALK) or Crisis Text Line by texting “NAMI” to 741-741.
