9.13.24 PLES Newsletter
9/13/24
Dear PLES!
It is hard to believe that week three is over! We have loved getting to know students! Please read the important information below regarding Exact Path, our PBIS program and PTA updates.
Students arriving by carline are able to exit their cars and walk directly into the building. Now that students are familiar with entering the building, they do not need to wait for a staff member to come to the car.
A Message from the Library: If you have not already, please read the attached form and return it to school so that your student can check out library books. You may also send a signed form directly to to gmlynar@avongrove.org.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Harrison, Principal
Mr. Blake, Assistant Principal
Spotlight on Learning
Next week, students will begin taking their Exact Path assessment. This is a computer based assessment for reading and math that is given three times a year. The assessment allows us to learn more about students’ strengths and areas for growth. Following the assessment, an individualized learning path is created for each student. Students will use their learning path during the school day to practice skills specific to them. We are looking forward to seeing all that students know! For more information, check out the Exact Path Caregiver Resource page on the district website.
PBIS and Bucket Filling
Today was our PBIS kickoff assembly! Students did an excellent job identifying bucket filling behaviors that take care of ourselves, each other, and our school. They are excited to earn and cash in bucket bucks! All students were given a bucket filling shirt and bracelet to show their bucket filling spirit! We encourage students to wear their bracelets daily and bucket filling shirts on Fridays throughout the year.

Student Resources and Supports
Hello from the Nurse’s Office in PLES!
Accidents Happen, so…
- Please have a change of clean clothes in your child’s backpack in case they do have an accident at school.
- If your child has a bathroom accident or food spill and needs new clothes, they will be lent clothes from our office. Please wash these clothes and send them back ASAP.
- If you have clothes from the nurse’s office presently, please send them in ASAP as we need them for other children.
Tis the season for viruses and colds!
- Please keep your child home if they have a fever, vomiting or diarrhea or they feel sick enough that they will not make it through the day.
- Your child needs to be fever, vomiting and diarrhea free (without medicine) for 24 hours before returning to school.
- If your child has a fever, vomits or has diarrhea during school they will need to be picked up and cannot return to school until they are free of those for 24 hours.
- Please try to have a plan in place in the event your child is sick and needs to be picked up.
