Competition Costumes

The choice of nude undergarments is up to each individual dancer. I always found a nude leotard to be the easiest option and most comfortable for changing, especially for any potential quick changes, but if you prefer to wear separate nude bra and underwear pieces that's totally up to you and what feels/fits best under your costumes. Please reach out if anyone needs any suggestions for nude undergarments ❤️

Competition Hair

  • All Soloists may choose how they would like to style their hair, however, they have been instructed that styles must be half pulled back at least.

  • All Duets & Trios may be given the option of how they would like to style their hair with the approval of their instructor, if the competition schedule is feasible for hair changes.

  • Groups will all wear double dutch braids into a high bun and/or ponytail.

Competition Make Up

Make Up Kits are available at the studio for purchase, if anyone would like a starter kit they can replenish from in the future. The starter kit contains the lipstick, blush, one set of fake eyelashes, eyelash glue, and one of the neutral eyeshadow palettes listed below.

Recommended Make Up Products

Lip, Cheek, Eyelashes

These are the brands that we (MST Directors) selected based on availability and price, however, the color of each product is the most important factor, if you prefer a different brand or style product (i.e. lip stain versus lip stick or blush powder versus blush putty).

Eyeshadow Options
  • Eyeshadow palettes of all neutral colors
  • Eyeshadow sticks in neutral colors
  • I personally prefer the ease of application and storage of the shadow sticks i.e. no fallout and no extra brushes needed

  • I like the application softness of the NYX brand over the ELF brand
  • A white shadow stick as a base for applying for eyeshadow palette powder so the powder sticks to the eyelid is an incredible hack

Note: Fake Eyelashes are not required if you rather choose to wear black voluminous mascara
