Lake Travis Middle School ~ February 28, 2025
Dear LTMS Families,
Spring is in full swing, and our calendar is quickly filling up with exciting events at LTMS! Be sure to check below for important dates and upcoming activities.
Go Knights!
Ms. Hudson
LTMS Lockdown Drill
In 2019, Lake Travis ISD officials introduced the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to school safety. The SRP is a proven method of creating shared language and actions among students, staff, and first responders during a school emergency. During the 2022-23 school year, district and campus officials will continue to conduct drills following SRP procedures.
Our staff and students will take part in a lockdown drill at LTMS on March 3, 2025. As a result, parents and students may see law enforcement officers, safety vehicles and/or other emergency responders onsite.
The drill is scheduled to occur in the morning and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Once the exercise has been completed, all instruction will resume as scheduled. Our teachers and students have been advised of the drill and are prepared to participate. We appreciate your patience, understanding and support during this time.
Forever 15 Fentanyl Education Assemblies
In March, each of our middle schools will be hosting a special presentation by Forever 15, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of fentanyl and fentanyl poisoning. This presentation aims to educate students about the risks associated with fentanyl, how it can unknowingly be present in substances, and the devastating impact it has had on individuals and families. The presentations will be held during the school day as follows:
- Monday March 10, 2025 - Hudson Bend MS
- Wednesday March 12, 2025 - Lake Travis MS
- Thursday March 13, 2025 - Bee Cave MS
Fentanyl is a growing concern in communities across the country, and knowledge is a crucial tool in prevention. Forever 15 works to empower young people with the information they need to make safe and informed decisions. The presentation is designed to be age-appropriate and informative, with a focus on education and prevention.
We will also be offering two parent information sessions, led by Forever 15, to provide parents, guardians, and community members with the opportunity to participate and learn more. These information sessions will be held as follows:
- Monday, March 3, 2025
Location: Lake Travis ISD Educational Development Center
Time: 5:30 - 6:30pm
- Wednesday, March 12, 2025
Location: Lake Travis ISD Educational Development Center
Time: 5:30 - 6:30pm
We encourage you to talk to your child after their school presentation and ask what they learned from it.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at garriganj@ltisdschools.org, or 512-533-5940. Thank you for your support as we work together to keep our students safe and informed.
LTMS Track
Our LTMS girls and boys track programs are having an exciting start of the season despite a small weather hiccup last week! We are seeing so many athletes emerge and find their place within this track program & we are proud of the hard work we have seen thus far. Next week, we are excited to have some amazing weather, and we will head into our pre-district meets! This will allow us to see where we stand as of now amongst the other schools in our district! We have a few athletes that have or that are close to breaking some pretty amazing records which brings a lot of excitement!

Your Leadership and Counseling Team
While our campus leadership team works collaboratively with all students and teachers, the following information should help you reach the appropriate administrator or counselor for your child's grade level should a concern or question arise. We are committed to serving our students and appreciate the opportunity to work together with families to support our learners. Towards the start of the new school year, each counselor and Assistant Principal will be assigned new duties to individual grade levels, and we will share that information with families and students at that time. In the interim, please feel free to reach out to any member of our leadership team for assistance.
