Principal's Message
Let's GROW! It's finally here and we are very excited to welcome our Layer students back on August 9th for Meet the Teacher! Our GROW focuses will be: Give Opportunities for Collaboration and Engagement, Relatationships to Build Trust and Belonging, Own Data Successes and Differentiate Needed Next Steps, and Willingness to Learn with a Growth Mindset.
HERE is our "Need to Know" document for logistics for Layer Elementary. A paper copy will be going home, along with other information, in planners the first day of school!
Also, we are looking for parents to join our School Advisory Council this year! We meet monthly and discuss the progress of the school. We are always looking for feedback, suggestions, and input as we are wanting to make Layer a great place. Please let me know if you are interested in serving as a member of this committee.
Please know we are here if you have questions, feedback, or needs! I look forward to working with all of your families this year!
Let's "Grow Greatness" together!

Medication Form

The attached form will need to be completed (one per over the counter or prescription medication) and brought with the medicine (in the box/bottle with the prescription label) by the parent in person. SCPS Health Services and Clinic Card Information
Please review the attached letter about Health Services Consent and updating your clinic card in Skyward for the 2024-25 school year.
You now have the ability to easily access and complete these important documents online, streamlining the process and ensuring that all necessary information is up to date. By integrating these services into the Skyward Family Access Parent Portal, we aim to enhance communication and collaboration between parents, schools, and healthcare providers.
Parent Authorization for Deviation from Student's Legal Name
For the 2024-2025 school year, the Parental Authorization for Deviation from Student’s Legal Name Form, as well as the SCPS Code of Conduct can be found in the parent/guardian account of Skyward Family Access.
Without the signed name deviation consent form from parent/guardian, staff are required to use only the legal name of the student as listed in Skyward. If you have previously completed and submitted the Parental Authorization for Name Deviation Form, and there are no modifications to the information provided since last year, there is no need to resubmit the form. Your previous authorization and parental consent will remain valid for the current academic year.
