SAME DAY, DIFFERENT POND FISHING TOURNAMENT
Calling all Gator Anglers…. The 4th annual “Same Day, Different Pond” fishing tournament will be held Saturday, May 10th! FMS Anglers can fish any time between 8:00am and 4:00pm. All Anglers must be registered to participate. To register, just click the button below.
Tournament Rules are as follows:
- Fish at the pond/lake of your choice. Anglers are encouraged to fish with a parent, sibling or another FMS Angler.
- This is a freshwater Bass tournament. Only Bass will count toward winning prizes.
- This is a catch and release tournament. All fish caught should be returned to the water alive and well (after you take photos, of course).
- There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for total weight of all fish caught. Size is determined by weight. You must use a digital scale with weight shown in each photo in order to qualify. The photo must show the entire fish and the entire scale.
- There will also be one trophy awarded to the angler with the single biggest bass (by weight). You must use a digital scale and the weight must be visible in the photo. The photo must show the entire fish and the entire scale.
- You can email your photos as you take them, or wait until the end of the competition. Each photo must be titled with your full name, the fish number, the fish weight and the time caught. For example, "Melissa Rutenberg, Fish #1, 5.6 lbs. caught at 1:30PM."
- Only fish caught between 8:00am and 4:00pm qualify for competition. This will be verified by the time stamp on the emails sent.
- All photos must be emailed to Mrs. Rutenberg at MRutenberg001@horrycountyschools.net by 5:00 pm for consideration. This gives you 1 hour after the tournament closes to get organized and send your pics!
- Winners will be announced Monday, May 12th. Trophies will be presented after morning announcements and photos will be taken for social media.
- If you need a digital scale, see Mrs. Rutenberg in the office to check one out. Have fun and go wet a line!

At the beginning of the school year, students were issued a laptop and charger. If your student does not have a device, they may owe fines from a previous year or their registration may be incomplete. You should have received an email, letter or phone call with this information. Payments may be sent to school with your student and given to the bookkeeper or the fine can be paid on MyPaymentsPlus.com. If you wish to turn in a missing/lost device that you have been charged for, the fine can be removed.
STUDENTS WHO HAVE PAID THEIR $25 TECHNOLOGY FEE are allowed to take their laptop home with them. If you have not yet paid the technology fee for the 24-25 school year, the fee can be paid in person in the front office or money can be sent in with your student.
If you have any questions regarding fines, fees or technology policy, you may email Ginger Bullock at gbullock@horrycountyschools.net.
GATOR CAFE
All students in Horry County Schools will receive free breakfast and lunch during the 2024-2025 school year as part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.
Students will still have the option to purchase additional meals, food & snack items, and beverages at à la carte prices. À la carte items can be paid for in cash or by prepayment on the student’s cafeteria account. Charging for à la carte sales is not allowed. Prepayments can be made by cash or check at your child’s school cafeteria or with a debit card by setting up an account at myschoolbucks.com. Any charges remaining on a student’s cafeteria account from a prior school year are still the parent’s responsibility. If needed, payment arrangements for larger balances can be made by contacting the school cafeteria manager.
