This Week at Windsor...
#WEAREWINDSOR
May 17th, 2024
Windsor Families,
Today our Wildcats had their final den meeting of the school year. It was a celebration to wrap up a fun year of learning and connecting with each other. They played a few games of bingo and even won prizes.
Field day is May 23rd! Mr. Gember wants everyone to know, please no crocs, sandals or flip flops and please make sure children have water bottles to stay hydrated. We highly recommend sun screen as we will not be able to help children apply it.
Third Grade is holding a drive to collect personal care items to create "Care Kits" to distribute to the community. The drive will take place 5/10-5/24. Donations of the following items may be dropped off in the front vestibule: toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, granola/fruit bars, cases of water, wipes, sunscreen, lotion, travel shampoo/body wash, rain ponchos, travel kleenex, lip balm, and bandaids. Thank you for donating!

5th Grade Parents Only- Tile Wall Reminder
Give your student the opportunity to leave a lasting impression on their school before they embark on their next grand adventure! Students will paint a tile that will be glazed and fired by Thrown Elements Pottery and mounted on the walls of the school to commemorate their time as a Windsor student. Students will complete their tile during their art classes, so no need to do anything at home!
Tiles will cost $15 and you will have the option to donate a tile to a student who may not be financially able. You can either donate full tiles for the full price, or round up your purchase to $20 to add $5 to the donation pool. Everyone gets to participate! If donations add up to more than what is necessary to pay for all of the kid's tiles, the remainder will be donated directly to the PTA.
Fill out an order form using our website here: https://www.thrownelementspottery.com/product/legacy-tile-wall-registration-windsor-/2697?cs=true&cst=custom
To round up/add donations, choose the donation option from the drop down, and add as many instances of $5 that you would like.
We're honored to be a part of your child's legacy!
The advanced placement process will occur in May after the school year's testing windows have closed. Percentiles on the most recent CogAT and the highest of three MAP scores will be converted to a standard score (or z-score) before averaging, which provides a standardized way to compare data. The district will also calculate local percentiles for both assessments at this time. Families will receive placement information in mid-May. Only families of students who are new qualifiers to Advanced Math (grades 4-7) and Advanced Language Arts (grades 6-8) will receive letters. If a student is enrolled in an advanced course this school year, they will automatically be enrolled for next year. Please review the FAQ document for answers to more specific questions regarding the placement process. If you still have questions after reviewing, please contact Katie Paulson at kpaulson@sd25.org.

Food & Nutrition Services|Seasonal Menus
The Food & Nutrition Services Department is continually working to provide our students with lunch menu items that they enjoy, while providing a variety of nutritious options for our students. To achieve this, the department will be having seasonal menus this school year. All elementary and middle schools will have a Fall (8/17-11/17), Winter (11/27-2/14), Spring (2/20-5/31) Menu. Many of our favorite menu items will stay on the menu, however, this allows us to add some new products to our menus!
Our elementary and middle school students taste-tested a variety of new menu items this fall, and we have selected several of those items to be placed on the winter menu. We had quite a few items our students enjoyed, so some of the student-approved items will also be placed on the spring menu.
Updated menus will be posted on our website as well as on our app. Nutritional information can also be found on our website. We look forward to continuing to serve our students delicious and healthy lunch options.
Absences/Tardies:
Please also make every effort for your child to arrive at school on time. Missing the beginning of the school day often has a negative impact on students for the rest of the day. Please contact the office if your child will be tardy or needs to leave early!
