The Fowler Weekly
June 3-7
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Fowler Families,
Hello, June! It has been one heck of a journey to get here this year. As we wrap our final two weeks of the school year, here are a few reminders. All students will check iPads in before school ends. 8th graders will receive Chromebooks at the high school, and 6th and 7th graders will get updated iPads when they return next year. Please make sure your child can find their charging cord, iPad, and case. They should all be together, but this is middle school…
We will also have a group of historical volunteers on campus June 11th who will share historical replicas, materials, and stories that fit in with the social studies curriculum students have been studying during the civil war era. There will be demonstrations of muskets and perhaps even a replica cannon. Please know there may be some loud noises associated with this presentation that 8th graders will get to experience on that day.
Have a great week,
Andy

The permission slips for Oaks Park will be sent home tomorrow. The PSO is providing lunch with a donation of sandwiches from Jimmy John’s. In order to make sure that students with dietary and preference needs, please be sure to indicate that on the permission slip, in the space provided, and return the permission slip as soon as possible.
Thank you to all of the families that are contributing to this celebration with the donations requested by the PSO. Reminder: *All donations needed at Fowler by Wednesday, June 5th please!*
June 11 8th Grade Civil War Reenactment
Civil War reenactors visiting for the day to share insights on life during the Civil War. This will be an "in-school" field trip, so all 8th graders will be participating and eating lunch together.
If a student did not sign up with their Block teacher for a sack lunch from the cafeteria, they will need to bring lunch from home. Students will not have access to go to the cafeteria on this day.
In addition, the current weather forecast is going to be warm. We recommend sending a lot of water, and perhaps sunblock with your student. They will be outside the entire day.
8th Grade Promotion Ceremony is Wednesday, June 12, 2024
Tigard High School Auxiliary Gym, 6-7pm.
Doors will open at 5:30pm.
We look forward to celebrating our 8th graders moving on to high school. We will host this Celebration at Tigard High School from 6-7pm on Wednesday, June 12. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend this celebration. However, we do ask that you limit attendees to immediate family members.
We are still trying to get a picture of all students as a younger version of themselves.
(A baby picture, or anything before 8th grade, we’re not picky!) We have received so many of these pictures! Thank you! It is NOT too late to submit the pictures. However, this Friday, June 7, is the absolute latest we can accept them. We would really like to honor all of our students in this way.
Details:
There will be a slideshow for the 8th Grade Celebration, and we would like to be able to include both a current photo and a young photo of each student.
If you would like to submit a current picture for us to use other than their school photo, because so many of them have changed significantly since the beginning of the year, you are welcome to do so. We would prefer not to use “selfies” for the slideshow.
Please send pictures to fowleroffice@ttsd.k12.or.us along with your students full name and/or ID number.
