Mrs. Albrecht's and Mrs. Thuss's 4th grade classes enjoyed a scientific day at The Michigan Science Center in Detroit on Friday, May 30th.
It was a very fun interactive field trip in which they all got to experience an Outdoor Animal Adventure 4D movie, a Dinosaur Exhibit and an exploration of scientific hands-on activities on 3 floors.
Hands down...The 4-D movie in the Toyota Theatre and the Dino Exhibit were voted their favorites. The interactive seats and HUGE T-Rex skeletons were a big hit!
What an electrifying day!
On June 4th, Mrs. Huizdos's and Mrs. Delicato's classes participated in our Kindergarten Celebration after school. Students enjoyed popsicles, captured some memories with their friends, families and teachers in front of a fun photo backdrop, and filled in summer phone books for future playdates! Each child received a gift bag containing their certificate of completion, a summer journal, a special book, a class picture and some fun summer goodies! We would like to offer a special thanks to our MTPC and the MISD for their generous donations!

Last week, our 4th grade students took part in an exciting hands-on science activity: owl pellet dissection! With gloves, tweezers, and magnifying glasses in hand, students worked in pairs to identify skulls, jawbones, and other skeletal remains. They used bone charts to match their findings and learn more about the prey species. It was a fascinating way to connect classroom learning to the real world, helping students understand predator-prey relationships and the digestive process in birds of prey.
The excitement and curiosity in the room was contagious. Great job, 4th grade scientists!

Last Wednesday, 6th-grade students were celebrated at Fraser High School's Auditorium. Families gathered to watch and cheer as students were recognized for their participation in clubs, service organizations, academics, and for completing their elementary experience. We wish them well as they transition to Richards MIddle School and know they will make us proud.
PBIS Rewards - Animal Magic
As part of ur PBIS Rewards System, students and classrooms receive ROCKS tickets monthly to earn prizes for making good choices. These tickets are collected from all classrooms monthly and students recently filled our collection bin and won a whole-school reward. On Tuesday, June 3rd each class was invited to to a special assembly - Animal Magic. This live animal presentation introduced students to a very, very large tarantula, a 3-banded armadillo, and a king snake. However, the star of the show was Nico, the famous crying bird. The presentation was both informative and highly entertaining. Keep up the great work Comets!
