More than 300 teams entered the 2023-24 International Public Policy Forum (IPPF) debate competition but only 32 remain – including Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona.

Sponsored by the Brewer Foundation and New York University, the IPPF is the first and only debate contest that gives high school students worldwide the opportunity to engage in written and oral debates on public policy issues.

By advancing, the team remains eligible to win a $10,000 grand prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to the IPPF Finals in New York City on May 4, 2024.

Student competitors include Emma Xi, Jenny Dong, Marie Chen, and Kevin Chen.

Prisha Shroff was named a 2024 Prudential Emerging Visionary for her inspiring commitment to improving the lives of others.

As one of 25 Prudential Emerging Visionary winners, Prisha will receive a $5,000 award to help take her innovation to the next level. She is also invited on an all-expenses-paid trip to Prudential’s headquarters in Newark, New Jersey, where she will be coached by Prudential employees and have the chance to meet other young leaders.

Prudential Emerging Visionaries recognizes young people ages 14-18 whose fresh perspectives and innovative solutions address pressing financial and societal challenges in their communities. The program’s goals align with Prudential’s purpose: to make lives better by solving the financial challenges of our changing world.

During the summit, to be held April 20-23, five winners will also have the opportunity to present their solutions in a pitch-off, where a grand prize winner will be awarded an additional $10,000 in funding. What’s more, Prudential employees will again vote to name an Employees’ Choice Award winner, who will receive an additional $5,000.

Awards from the Sonoran Desert Model UN conference where we were one of 26 schools participating. We did have the largest delegation and represented 14 different countries. We also sent six people as "Chairs" who manage the committees while in session – Vishwa Annamalai, Jini Oh, Sidd Chekuri, Rachel Kan, Jay Jhaver and Ryan Babu.

We were in a tie for 3rd place school when they averaged all of our paper and participation scores.

AND for the first time ever, we sent a World Press team. These ladies did an amazing job and were awarded Top Story and Top OVERALL News Outlet – Daniya Siddiqui, Nidhi Kamat, Iqra Momen, and Swathi Premkumar

37 members of your Hamilton Speech and Debate team competed in Harvard's National Speech and Debate tournament in Cambridge Massachusetts. There were nearly 5000 competitors from 38 states across the nation who navigated a chilly 20-degree campus and competed in historic Harvard classrooms. In addition, we had several competitors make it to the elimination rounds after two grueling 16-hour days of preliminary rounds. Our results were as follows:
