Parent Teacher Conferences are Coming!
On Tuesday, October 8th & Thursday, October 10th we will have our Fall Elementary Conferences. Conferences will be held in classrooms, from 3:30 - 7:30 each night. Each time slot will be 15 minutes. We ask that you please arrive on time, so that we can stay on schedule. Next week in both the school & classroom Smore a link will be included to signup.
Picture Day - Sept. 23rd
Arrival
Walking Club: Walking Club starts at 7:45 a.m. when staff members are outside to supervise students. Please make sure students are not getting dropped off or arriving to school before that time. Safety is a top concern when they are outside alone and staff are not yet at morning duty.
A.M. drop off: Please make sure that when you are dropping your child(ren) off in the morning you pull further down on the right hand side. Once the buses have arrived, we pull the orange cones back onto the sidewalk to allow more spaces to drop off & let students out. We know students like to get out as close to the front doors as possible, however traffic gets backed up and we have cars blocking the entrance/exit to our parking lot.
Thank you for your patience and assistance with this.

Sarpy County Period Project
Papillion La Vista Community Schools is excited to announce our partnership with the Sarpy County Period Project. This initiative aims to ensure that all students have access to essential menstrual products, removing potential barriers to education and participation in school activities.
Through this program, free menstrual products will be available to students who need them. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where every student can focus on learning and personal growth without worry.
This partnership reflects our commitment to student well-being and equal access to education. We believe in fostering an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive and reach their full potential.

PTO News - Portal Star Run
Save the Date - Friday, Sept. 27th!
We're getting ready for our largest annual fundraiser, the Portal Star Run. We will kick off the week-long fundraiser with a student Pep Rally Thursday, September 19th and raise donations through Friday, September 27th when the students will complete their run. Participants run, jog, or walk 10 laps within 30 minutes. Family, friends, and neighbors can support their efforts through pledges to the school either online, cash, or check. This year we have increased the goal to raise an average of $120 per student, and we are specifically raising funds to replace and improve our aging outdoor recess equipment.
Volunteers Needed!
If you are interested in volunteering on the day of the run, please see the link to the Sign Up Genius below. It’s your involvement and support that sets Portal Elementary School apart from other schools. We are so grateful for all you do to make the Portal community successful. With your help we can continue to watch our STARS shine!
