Wiggin Street Parent Update

Better Together
Families,
Next week is World Kindness Week! One opportunity for students to show respect and kindness is to provide food for the hungry. We will be collecting non-perishable food and monetary donations for Food For the Hungry of Knox County.
Students were able to show their respect for Veterans this month by making cards in art class. Mrs. Eilbacher's class won an ice cream reward and visit by some Veterans this afternoon. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, and I was so proud of the respect they showed our visitors. Cards were also passed out by Girl Scouts to the Veterans that attended our flag ceremony this morning.
It was so great to see families gather this morning for Donuts with Grown-ups! The students truly appreciate the time you took from your busy days to spend the morning at school with them.
Lastly, I have included all of the December dates on the Upcoming Events calendar below. It can be a busy time with concerts and get togethers, so hopefully it helps your organization. We are grateful for all of you!
Best wishes,
Christy Grandstaff

EASY WAY TO HELP OUR SCHOOL
Friends of Wiggin Street School (FOWS) would like to inform parents of an easy way to earn cash-back rewards for the school. Below are instructions provided by Kroger on how to sign-up for their charitable rewards program.
Kroger Community Rewards
Create a digital account, link your card to the organization "Friends of Wiggin Street School” and cash rewards are sent directly to this charitable organization at no added cost to you
School Culture Survey
Don't forget to complete the School Culture Survey!
We are hoping to plan a celebration of cultures for near the end of the school year. This would be during the school day. To help with planning, we would appreciate family members filling out this School Culture Survey, so that the event is representative of the student body and their families.

Morning Drop Off Safety Reminder
For those dropping off students in the morning, please do not get out of your vehicle. If your student needs assistance getting out of the vehicle, please pull off to the right side and walk them safely to the sidewalk.
Also, students are to walk in front of their car when exiting from the passenger side, so parents can watch for them. For this reason, please do not back up to go around a car. If you leave plenty of space between cars, you can go around if needed.
