Emerson’s Science Olympiad team competed in the 39th Annual Macomb Science Olympiad Tournament on Saturday, May 11th at Macomb Community College. Teams have been working together and preparing all winter and spring long for the competition. Team Emerson came in 21st place overall out of 33 teams. Everyone had a fun season, learned a lot about a bunch of different topics, and made some new friends. Congratulations, Team Emerson!

This past Friday the Fraser Youth Choir & RMS Show Choir visited Emerson. They performed for grades 3-6 and sounded GREAT! It was a pleasure to see some of our former Bulldogs too.

Special thanks to Mr. Pulver and the FHS Advanced Woodworking Students from Fraser High School! This semester as part of their community project they deigned and built garden benches for each of our elementary schools. Emerson's was delivered on Friday and our 1st Grade students were there to thank them. We look forward to using this bench for years to come!

4th and 5th grade students attended the Lake St. Clair Water Festival at Macomb Community College this past Tuesday. Students listened to presentations and played games as they learned about the water cycle, how to reduce pollution, hidden water, and the 3 Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle. Every student also got to take home their own white pine seedling, which is the state tree of Michigan. We had so much fun and can't wait to return next year!

5th graders invited their families to come see research writing poster projects on Thursday, May 16th. Over the past several weeks, students chose an ecosystem and researched the producers, consumers, and decomposers that live there. Students wrote an informative essay and then created a poster board display to showcase their work. Students did an amazing job researching, organizing their writing, creating their posters, and teaching their families and classmates about different ecosystems! Student posters displayed all kinds of interesting places such as rainforests, oceans, deserts, mountains, canyons, and more! Fantastic work, 5th graders! I am so proud of all your hard work!

Students are encouraged to do the following prior to turning in their iPad:

· Please make sure the iPad is charged to 100%.

· Remove any stickers the student may have put on their iPad.

· Delete all videos and photos.

· Delete all alarms, timers, stopwatches.

· Return the iPad and charger, all pieces must be the original Apple products that were issued.

You will receive a bill for any missing or damaged components i.e.. iPad, brick, USB/C, case.
