Message From Our Child Nutrition Services Department
We want to kindly remind you that meals are now available for all students at no cost. Additionally, we would appreciate your cooperation in having your students line up in alphabetical order while going through the lunch lines. This simple step not only streamlines the process but also enables our team to become familiar with each student's name, facilitating a more efficient flow.
For breakfast service, we encourage students to familiarize themselves with their unique student ID numbers. Alternatively, they can utilize the barcode on their student ID cards for a quicker process. Practicing the input of these numbers and using their student IDs has shown to lead to mastery within approximately 14 days. Just like learning a phone number, mastering their student ID can greatly expedite their morning routine.
We hope everyone enjoys a fantastic start to the school year.
School Site Council
School Site Council (SSC) 2024-2025
Dear Parents,
We need five members for our 2024-2025 School Site Council!
This council will consist of five parents and five school staff, elected by their peers. Its main function will be to review and periodically assess Valley View’s school programs, making changes in the plan as the need arises. The council will meet once a month for approximately one hour from 2:30-3:30 pm. We need representation from all aspects of our community.
If you are interested in serving on this council for the 2024-2025 school year, please fill out the attached form by Friday, August 16, 2024. We have five parent member positions that need to be filled. We will then place your name on our ballot to elect School Site Council members.
English Learner Advisory Committee
English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) 2024-2025
Every school with 21 or more English learners must have an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). The Valley View ELAC is responsible for reviewing and using information from many sources to make decisions about improving programs at our school. The ELAC gives input on how to use funding to improve academic achievement for English Learners. Meetings are generally held monthly and last approximately 1 hour. This year we have 5 open seats for parents/community members. If you would like to be a part of this council, please complete the following survey by 8/16/24. We will send ballots the following week with the names of all parents that are interested in serving.
Caregiver University
At Valley View we truly believe that collaboration between parents and educators is essential for the development of our students. Soon we will begin a series of parenting (or caregiving) workshops called Caregiver University.
We hope to see you at our workshops!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Janea Jaime, School Counselor
