Henry Happenings
Summer Update - July 31, 2023
November 17, 2024
Principal Message
This will be the last Henry Happenings before Thanksgiving Break. As we approach Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express how deeply grateful we are for each of you. Our school community thrives because of the support, kindness, and dedication you show every day.
Your involvement, whether big or small, makes a lasting impact on our students, staff, and the entire school. Together, we create a warm, caring environment where everyone feels valued. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for being such an essential part of our school family. We are truly grateful for all you do.
Parkway School District is eager to gather your thoughts on how we’re supporting your child. Please complete the Parkway Parent/Guardian Survey here. Your feedback will help us identify ways to enhance the learning experience for every student and family. Students have received a similar, optional survey.
The survey is anonymous, so feel free to share openly—your responses are confidential. Parkway will share the results once they're in so you can see how your feedback can help ensure student success.

Thank You from the Library
Thank you so much for your support of the library through our Fall book fair. Because of our community we will be able to use the proceeds towards new library books for our school collection, classroom library additions, Makerspace supplies and more. With our Share the Fair donations we were able to purchase a book for many students who may be unable to purchase a book themselves. We cannot thank you enough for supporting our School Library!
A huge thank you to Jeanette Belliveau and Angie Phillion for helping Mrs. Goyal plan and run the fair, and to the many volunteers who donated their time during the week. Also, a huge thank you to PTO for purchasing books for our summer readers and classrooms.

Attendance Information
As we continue to focus on providing the best educational experience for all of our students, we want to take a moment to highlight the critical role that consistent school attendance plays in your child’s academic success.
Why Attendance Matters: Regular school attendance is essential for your child’s learning and overall development. Every day in the classroom contributes to building knowledge, skills, and relationships that are vital for academic progress. Missing school—even for one day—can lead to gaps in learning, which can accumulate over time. By ensuring that your child attends school regularly, you're helping them stay on track, stay engaged, and feel connected to their learning community.
How We Track and Communicate Attendance: To help monitor and encourage regular attendance, we send home attendance letters each month to students with an atttendance percentange less than 93%. These letters outline your child’s attendance record for the month and include any absences or tardies. Please know this communication is an expectation from the Parkway School District.
A Partnership in Attendance: We understand that life can sometimes interfere with attendance, whether it’s due to illness, family matters, or other challenges. If your child is struggling with attendance for any reason, we encourage you to contact us so we can offer support and find solutions together. We’re here to partner with you to ensure that your child’s educational experience remains strong and consistent.

Attention 3rd Grade Parents: Stock the Lounge Deadline Extended
Please help us stock the lounge for the teachers/staff/administration. 3rd Grade is responsible for the month of November. There are still MANY openings, so we have extended the deadline! Please see the Sign Up Genius linked here and sign up to bring items. You can drop off at the school office by the morning of Wednesday, November 20th. Thank you for being so thoughtful and generous for those taking care of our students.
Updated Staff Wishlist Available
The giving season is right around the corner and while it's not expected or required, we know families often want to do a little something extra for their child's teacher. If you're wondering what they might enjoy, check out this updated staff wishlist for ideas and inspiration gathered by the Henry Teacher Appreciation Committee.
