Dear Hornet Families/Friends,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for conferences! It was wonderful to connect with each of you, celebrate our students’ progress, and discuss ways to keep their learning strong. Your involvement and encouragement make a big difference. Continuing these efforts at home by setting aside time each night to read and review homework shows your child the importance of education and builds a solid foundation for success.
We're excited to announce that the Scholastic Book Fair is coming up from November 11–15. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your home library and support a love of reading. A special Family Shopping event will be held on Thursday, November 14th, from 3:00–6:00 PM, giving you and your child the chance to explore new titles together.
In honor of Veterans Day, we invite you to join us on November 8 for our Veterans Day program. Our sixth graders will perform a musical tribute, and K-Kids will share heartfelt readings. It’s a wonderful time to recognize and thank our veterans for their service. We hope you can join us to honor these heroes.
Service learning is in full swing with our K-Kids leading a school-wide food drive to support the LSP Food Pantry. We’re collecting boxed goods, and donations can be dropped off through November 14th. This initiative helps our students give back to the community and develop a strong sense of responsibility. Ice cream sales will also begin this month and take place each Friday. All proceeds to directly to K-Kids and their service learning projects.
As Thanksgiving approaches, we encourage our students to stay focused on their studies and continue upholding our school’s FLY expectations, especially the “Y” in doing Your personal best. Thank you for all your support, and we look forward to a season of growth, gratitude, and giving.
