Dear Amazing Families of Madison Park,
Thank you for a great first week of school! It’s wonderful to see all of our students back in school and starting to get used to the rules, routines and procedures. As a reminder students are not allowed to be on campus until 8:10 am. Please read below for more important topics.
Park Parent Letter of Commitment
Dear Madison ParkParents and Guardians:
The Madison School District is committed to providing a safe environment for our students and faculty. Each school year, we take the opportunity to provide training for our staff on how to recognize and report Bullying/Harassment and Intimidation in the classroom during the first week back. In addition, we also provide explicit training for our students on this topic during the first month of the school year by our team of school social workers. This training provides our students with a deeper understanding of the definition of bullying and examples of what it is and isn’t and how to report bullying at school.
Our campus also has a school wide PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) program called RULER. The intention of the program is to create a healthier, more equitable, innovative, and compassionate school environment.
Although we do our best to proactively support the wellbeing of our students, in the event that you believe your child or another child is being bullied/harassed or intimidated, please contact our Assistant Principal, Rebecca Galindo. Parents and Students are also able to fill out a Reporting Form that can be obtained from the front office. This form is immediately given to our Assistant Principal, Social Work, and School Counselor for investigation. Our school handbook outlines the board policy and also has a bullying/harassment/intimidation reporting form and Student Rights and Supports) Our handbook can be found on the Madison website at madisonaz.org under the families tab.
I appreciate your support in regards to this matter and am looking forward to a great school year.
Sincerely,
Priscilla L. Gossett - Principal
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures- No Student Drop-Off prior to 8:10AM
To ensure a safe campus, please help us with the student drop-off and pick-up procedures throughout the course of the school year. Morning drop off, no students before 8:10. Please do not drop off before this time. We have been having some parents trying to drop off during the Madison Highland Prep drop off times. If you arrive early to campus park and wait in the parking lot until the 8:10 morning bell rings.
In order for us to supervise our students, please drop off or pick-up your child at the designated area(s) east of the campus. Please follow the parent drop off signs in the front of the school. Students will enter campus through the gate by the baseball field, just east of the school office. Remember we share space with Madison Highland High School, as a result, our parking capacity is limited.
Watch this video to see our drop off and pick up procedures for car drop off, bus and walkers.
A reminder, students are not allowed on campus until 8:10 am.
MAP Assessment (Measure of Academic Progress)
NWEA MAP Assessment begins Tuesday, August 13th 2024
For those families who are not familiar with the MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessment, it is an adaptive test for Reading and Math where the results are used to help teachers make instructional decisions that enhance academic growth for your child. Testing is administered three times per year in the fall (August), winter (December), and spring (April).
To find out more information about the MAP assessment, please use this link: Common Questions for Families and Parent Family Toolkit
Assessment Schedule:
The administration of the MAP assessment will be designed to mirror our statewide assessment schedule. As parents and guardians, you are in a unique position to encourage and motivate your child to do their best on these tests. Working together, we can ensure that all students are successful. Student attendance on these test days is extremely important. It is imperative that your student(s) attend school and arrive on time (8:10am-8:25am) on testing days. Students who are absent on a testing day will need to be pulled from one or more of their classes when they return for make-ups. Make-up sessions will continue as needed until the end of each testing window. Please do your best to schedule appointments around these dates. Below you will find the testing schedule for our school. Please mark your calendars to help avoid absences during your child’s testing days.

Active Play at Recess
The primary focus of school is to maintain a safe and effective learning environment. With this being said, we will be implementing the District’s student dress code as it relates to active play at recess. If your child chooses to participate in sports play of any kind they must wear sneakers. Sneakers should have good traction and support. No part of the student’s foot should be showing. Students may not play in slides or crocs.
We want to make sure that students can run and play safely during recess, and we have found tennis shoes to be safest for the playground/schoolyard. Please send your child to school with tennis shoes each day if they wish to participate in sport activities during recess. Policy JICA-R
Please see below:
C. Shoes must be worn at all times. Closed shoes are to be worn for any type of
physical activity, such as physical education.

Student ID's and Hall Passes
We are excited to announce a new procedure starting this school year aimed at enhancing the security and monitoring of our students' whereabouts. Student IDs will be used as hall passes. This change will help us ensure a safer and more organized school environment.
How It Works
When Leaving the Classroom:
Students must show their Student ID to the teacher before leaving the classroom.
The Student will scan their ID to log the time and destination of the student.
In the Hallway:
Students must carry their Student ID at all times when outside the classroom.
Hall monitors and staff may ask to see the ID to verify permission.
Returning to Class:
Students must return directly to their classroom and check in with the teacher.
Benefits
Improved Security: Helps in identifying students and ensuring they are where they need to be.
Efficient Monitoring: Allows staff to better track student movement throughout the school day.
Streamlined Process: Reduces the need for paper passes and simplifies the procedure.
Guidelines
Students must use their own ID and not share it with others.
IDs should be carried at all times and presented upon request.
Misuse of IDs will result in disciplinary action.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I forget my ID?
You will need to get a temporary pass from the office, which may result in a minor delay.
Can IDs be used for bathroom breaks?
Yes, IDs should be shown before leaving for the bathroom.
For further questions, please contact the school office.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in making our school a safer place.

2024-2025 School Supply Lists (All Grade Levels).
Park School Wide- PBIS and ROAR
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Here at Madison Park, we have outlined four school-wide expectations for students to follow. ROAR stands for Respect Outreach Achievement and Responsibility. Students can earn PBIS digital reward points for meeting our expectations and then they can spend those points like currency in either their Teacher Stores or our amazing ROAR Store on certain Fridays. We also have our PBIS Rewards Family APP where families can view teacher comments about your child for meeting those expectations. Again our goal is to highlight the positive behaviors all students practice each and every day.
What is our PBIS Goal?
Schools that utilize SWPBIS on all levels see a lower number of student disciplines, suspensions, and detentions. Our goal is to not only use SWPBIS methods in class but to encourage parents to use them at home. Here is a guide for parents on how to use PBIS at home to help manage behavior.
PBIS Behavior Flow Chart
PBIS Behavior Flow Chart: Here at Madison Park, we have outlined four intervention steps to help manage student behavior. This is our Behavior flowchart for how behaviors are managed here at Madison Park. Intervention 1 Verbal Reteach of the following ROAR expectation, Intervention 2 Reteach the expectation with a written reflection sheet. Intervention 3 Reteach the expectation conference with the student and assign a Reflection Time afterschool with phone call home. Intervention 4 should the behavior continue an Office Discipline Referral will be completed. Teachers will be in communication with Parents regarding assigned Reflection Time. Reflection Times are held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-4:15PM
