LHS is collecting new, handmade, colorful, cheery, cuddly blankets for Project Linus, a non-profit organization that provides blankets to children in shelters, hospitals, and social service agencies. Give a little security, warmth and comfort to a child by donating a special blanket made with love. Blankets can be knitted, crocheted, tie-blankets, etc. (100% cotton, flannel, single-ply polar fleece, or acrylic yarn…please no wool). Click here to view the flyer for more information, or contact kroche@ltps.org with any questions. Students who make blankets can also earn volunteer hours for their time. Fun Fact
While the gap has slowly been closing over the years, there are more public libraries in the United States than there are McDonald's restaurants. As of the last count, there are around 17,000 public libraries in the United States, and around 14,000 McDonald's locations.
