Course registration is essential for helping students meet graduation requirements while exploring college and career-oriented courses. We know that the amount of information and choices can be intimidating, so we have provided numerous resources on our registration website and our 2025-26 Course Registration Guide.
Important ACT Prep Meeting For Juniors Monday, January 13
The ACT exam is an important exam for college admission. The ACT exam will be administered this spring on April 15. To help students prepare for the ACT AVHS teacher Cheryl Donely, will present information to all juniors on Monday, January 13 during advisory. This is an important presentation for your student to attend.
Winter Credit Recovery Program
Staying on track for graduation credits is essential. Students who did not earn credits in Trimester 1 should plan to attend the Winter Credit Recovery Program, held in person from Jan. 14–Feb. 20 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:45–3:45 PM.
- Students may enroll in ONE course at a time.
- After completing a course, students may sign up for another.
- Note: Not all required courses are available. Please review offerings carefully and select the course you need.

Parent Information Night January 22
Counselors will be hosting a high school and college planning parent night at AVHS on Wednesday, January 22nd from 6:00-8:15 p.m.. There will be multiple sessions that evening, including information on scholarships, college admissions, NCAA and earning college credit in high school.

Heard in the Halls - Shoutout to Titus Scott!
Senior Titus Scott, a former Southview student, has been hard at work earning his Eagle Scout award. Titus and his team planned, gathered supplies, constructed, painted, and installed a “Buddy Bench” at Southview Elementary. This bench creates a welcoming spot for students looking for a friend and encourages others to extend a friendly invitation to play.
