Bonham High School Board Report
January 18, 2023
Be an "A" in EVERYTHING you do!
This year at Bonham High School, we are rallying around our powerful motto: "Be an A in EVERYTHING we do!" It's more than just words—it’s a call to excellence in every aspect of our lives, both in and out of the classroom. Our students are truly embracing this challenge, and if you see them holding their hands in a triangle shape, that’s their way of showing this commitment!
This triangle isn’t just a symbol. It represents who they are, where they are from, and what they’re going to do. Our students are proud to show the world that they are striving to be their best, and this sign is their way of sharing their pride and purpose. So when you see that triangle, know that it’s Bonham spirit in action! Let’s all continue to be an A in everything we do!
Culinary Arts
Congratulations to these students who passed the Servsafe Food Safety Manager's Certification test receiving their Industry-based certification and their CCMR point. This certification is sanctioned by the National Restaurant Association and is good for five years. This certification is required by anyone in the food service industry who fills the role of manager or assistant manager.
Congratulations Arianna Honeycutt, Alisha Fuller, Priscilla Whitman, Olivia Parnell, Belinda Hurtado, and Summer Hathaway (not pictured) on this accomplishment!
Warriors at the next level
2024 BHS Alum Christian Brock just completed his basic training and was back in the building representing the Marines while also getting to check in on his younger brother.
After a vote by the student body at Southeastern Oklahoma State University during its annual Homecoming week, Addison McCortney and Ryan Murrell were named Homecoming Royalty at halftime of the Savage Storm’s football game versus Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, October 5.
Murrell is a senior criminal justice major from Bonham, Texas, representing the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He is also a member of the Southeastern Cheer Team, which made history by competing in the National Cheerleading Competition in Daytona Beach, Fla. He was also the recruitment director for his fraternity which resulted in one of the largest recruiting classes. He has been a member of the Student Government Association, and worked for Student Life, Housing and Residence Life, and the campus police department.

How long have you been a student at Bonham ISD?
I have been a student in Bonham ISD since Kindergarten.
What are your future plans for College/Career?
To attend Texas A&M
What is your favorite thing about the High School campus?
While Homecomings are my favorite events, the favorite thing for me are all of our proud traditions! I also couldn't leave out our teachers! They are always going above and beyond to help everyone! No matter who you are, you are a part of a FAMILY while at Bonham High School!
Teachers Shared that:
Emma is always just a friendly, welcoming and supportive person! She is always one of the first to volunteer to help out and offer assistance. We are truly going to miss her as she continues her educational career at Texas A&M, but she has definitely provided an awesome example for her underclassmen to follow!
What does it mean to you to be a Fighting Purple Warrior?
To me being a Fighting Purple Warrior means to be that person to help and make others feel welcomed. I know that when I was a Freshmen, I was nervous about coming to high school. As I had others help me, I know that that is the "Bonham way". To help others feel welcomed, and ultimately more successful, while providing an example for our underclassmen to continue "THE BONHAM WAY!"
