Dear Runkle Community,
A huge thank you again to our amazing PTO and parent volunteers for spoiling our teachers and nurses during Teacher and Nurse Appreciation Week!
Just a reminder, with only 26 school days left, the fun isn't over yet! Buckle up for exciting music concerts, field trips, and PAAR assemblies. Don't forget to check the Important Dates below for the complete, and ever-growing, calendar of events.
On a personal note, there won't be a message next weekend as I'll be celebrating a college graduation in Vermont! My son, Colin, will be graduating from UVM alongside Ms. Vish's daughter, Willa (a Runkle graduate)! It's a wonderful coincidence that both Colin and Willa, who graduated from Brookline High School together in 2020, will be celebrating this milestone at UVM. We're all incredibly excited to finally have a real graduation and share this moment with our families.
Here's to a warm and peaceful May,
Donna
Runkle 6th and 8th graders enjoyed a PTO sponsored, Techsploration event on Thursday.
Runkle 5th graders walked to Fisher Hill to bird watch as a culminating event to their Bird Unit on Friday. A very large, strange, yellow, bird appeared late in the trip. We believe he was there to wish Ms. Almeida a "Happy Birthday!" However, she quickly shooed her students clear of this bird before realizing that it was actually our Vice Principal, Mr. Pelton!
Runkle Baby News!
Kaitlin Genco (2G Classroom Teacher) and her husband, John, welcomed Patrick William Genco on May 3rd. Patrick weighed in a 8lbs, 3 oz! Congratulations Kaitlin and John! We will miss you at Runkle next year, but send only good wishes for joy with your new baby and sleep when you can get it:)
