4K Moving to Elementary Schools in 2025
The Kimberly Area School District has announced that they will end their 10-year lease with Holy Spirit Church at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. As a result, a 4-year-old kindergarten program will be opened in each of the four elementary school buildings. Space is available in all elementary schools due to declining enrollment. The change will save the District $350,000 in administrative and operational costs per year, and reduce the 5-year structural deficit by $1.7 million.
Students Hone Skills Through District Vision Screenings
Every year, our school nurses and Kimberly High School (KHS) Health Occupations Club students join forces to conduct vision screenings across the District. Impressively, over 2,000 KASD students were screened! Through this unique opportunity, the students gained a basic understanding of the vision screening process and practiced patient/healthcare communication. This hands-on experience isn't just about eye health; it's a real-world learning experience aligning with our commitment to career exploration and preparing students for the future. Our commitment stems from our most recent Plan for Excellence. The Plan for Excellence is a five-year plan that outlines our commitment to developing students who are community, college and career ready. This plan was shaped by school district staff, students, families, and community members through a series of listening sessions, classroom observations and surveys. Concerns about Vaping and JUULs
This is not a photo of USB flash drives. This device is a JUUL, the most popular type of e-cigarette, and it is causing concerns in our community. Not only are the devices designed to be discreet, but the “juice” used in these products often contains nicotine, yet it is marketed in fruity or appealing flavors. Here are a few resources on these e-cigarettes and tips on how to talk to your teen about them:
