December Principal's Pride Winners
Author Visit
Exciting news, Wildcats!
Get ready for an extraordinary literary treat! We're thrilled to announce that Nidhi Chanani will be visiting Wilson Creek Elementary School on February 10th! Nidhi is an author-illustrator for many best selling books including: Binnys Diwali, Super Boba Cafe, Quiet Karima and Shark Princess. She will be sharing with students all about being an author-illustrator and what goes into creating a book.
All 1st Grade through 5th Grade classes will have the opportunity to engage with Nidhi during her visit, where she'll delve into the creative process behind her books and share insights into her journey as an author-illustrator. If you choose to purchase any of Nidhi’s books from Johns Creek Books & Gifts here: https://wilsoncreek-jcb.square.site/, Nidhi will autograph any books purchased! When purchasing a book, please include your students name in the notes so that we know who the book was purchased for.
Remember all book purchases must be made by January 31st, and let's give Nidhi Chanani a warm Wilson Creek welcome! Please contact Mrs. Pence with any questions at pence@fultonschools.org
Environmental Resource for kids, by kids!
Earlier this week, I received the letter below from some of our 5th grade students. I love to see kids identifying a cause that is meaningful to them and doing what they can to make a difference. Check out their project below!

After School Programs for Spring Semester
Challenge Island
Challenge Island provides a screen-free, creative learning space for children to use critical thinking and problem solving skills to complete hands-on STEM challenges. Every week, students tackle a different standards-aligned challenge with their STEAMMates, using only a treasure chest of low-tech supplies and their boundless imaginations. Next semester, our challenges are inspired by the Shark Tank TV show, intertwining STEAM and entrepreneurship. From engineering theme parks to building lunar landers to conducting chemical experiments, there is a lot to learn as we create and pitch our STEAM businesses! More information at this link, and register at this link.
Challenge Island is held on Fridays, Jan 31-Apr 25: 2:30-3:30pm
