A message from the Principal - Mrs. Bookman
Dear Suffield Family,
We remain committed to partnering with parents to ensure the success of every student. By working together to cultivate a supportive learning environment both at home and in the classroom, we can empower our children to thrive academically and beyond. Thank you for your continued dedication and involvement in your child's education.
One way to partner with your child's teacher is to attend conferences. Thank you to all of our families who came to conferences on Tuesday evening. Remember that we will have the rescheduled conferences for the same times, on Thursday, February 20th. If you did not get signed up for a conference but would like to do so, please contact the school office and we will help you get scheduled.
Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Bookman

Flying Falcons Youth Track & Field 2025
We are very excited to start our first season of Youth Track and Field here at Field! We will send out more details on the season start dates (early April thru middle of May) once it's finalized.
We will likely practice 2-3 days per week at Field High School and plan to participate in 2-4 local meets (Tallmadge, Streetsboro, Kent, Field).
You do not need to be a resident of Field Local Schools (Brimfield/Suffield) to participate. We will accept registrations from other local communities.
Dental Outreach will be here
on April 10, 2025
Mark your calendars...the mobile dentist will be here on April 10th! Registration forms went home with your student this week. If you need an additional form, please contact the office. You can also register online by clicking here.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to have your child's dental health assessed by a professional right here at school. We believe that by promoting good dental hygiene habits early on, we can set our children up for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Friendly reminder to check the Lost and Found when visiting our school!
We're thrilled to welcome you to our school, whether it's for a parent-teacher conference, a special event, or just to spend some time with your child's class. As you explore our wonderful learning environment, we wanted to take a moment to remind you about an important stop you can make while you're here - our Lost and Found!
Our Lost and Found is a treasure trove of forgotten items, from jackets and lunch boxes to water bottles and notebooks. Sometimes, the smallest and most valuable items end up there, waiting to be reunited with their owners. We encourage you to check the Lost and Found area located near the gym while you're visiting.
We also recommend labeling your child's items with their name and contact information to make it easier for us to return lost items promptly.
Outdoor Recess
Temperatures are starting to drop and we would like to pass along some details about recess, so you can plan accordingly. We will go out to recess if the temperature is above 20 degrees. We would like to remind parents that there are certain areas on the playground where snow boots are required and other areas where snow pants and boots are required during the winter months. If they do not wear the proper attire for these areas, they will have to stay on the blacktop area. Thank you in advance for your help.

Substitutes Needed
We are now hiring classified substitute workers for various roles, including Playground Monitors, Educational Aides, Cafeteria Workers, Secretarial Staff, Custodial Staff, Bus Aides, and Bus Drivers. A current BCI & FBI background check is required before applying for any substitute position. Some positions may also require an aide permit, which the Administration Office can help you obtain. You have the flexibility to work the hours that suit you, and you'll be on call to cover for regular employees. For more details or assistance with the application process, please contact Bev Bable at the Administration Office beverly.bable@fieldlocalschools.org.
Birthday Treats
At this time, we will allow Birthday Treats to be brought to school. We are required to inform you of the Healthy Eating Guidelines (see below) and suggest that you use this when selecting a treat. Whatever you choose, please note that all treats brought to school for the purpose of sharing with others, need to be prepackaged so we are able to know and see the ingredients list. There are many students who have a variety of food allergies and having the ingredients listed helps the school nurse determine if a student with allergies can eat a particular treat.
Suffield CARES
Suffield CARES helps provide “short-term emergency needs” to families in Suffield. If you are in danger of having your electric or heat terminated, being evicted or have other emergency needs, call Mrs. Bookman at school or Chief Rasnick at (330)628-9240.
