Notes from Dr. Raeder
Get Involved! This is my message to all students and their families. High school represents a short period of time in a student’s life. Make the most of it! Have your student join an athletic team, participate in a fine art activity, attend games, concerts, plays and other school events. As a Patriot Family, we need to support each other. Additionally, students who are involved with a school event tend to do better in classes and find more enjoyment in school.
With over 75 clubs, sports and activities LHS has something for everyone. If a student is not able to find an activity of interest, have your student talk to an administrator about starting an activity. Perhaps there are other students who have similar interests and your student can make connections with other LHS students. Help your student brainstorm ways to get involved at LHS.
Another way to get involved and show your school pride is to participate in our Red Letter Days. This is our Homecoming week. Homecoming is Sept 11th-15th. Students will have different activities to attend during the week and we will finish the week with a school wide pizza feed, pep rally, and dance. Go Pats!
SFSD Adopts Canvas as the new Learning Management Platform
The Sioux Falls School District is excited to announce the adoption of Canvas as the Learning & Assessment Management System! This fall, the District is implementing a Learning Management System (LMS) called Canvas. Canvas provides students with a digital classroom. The platform offers a systematic approach to sharing classroom lessons and communication for students and parents, ensuring consistency of access and experience for students and families regardless of school or grade level. Canvas replaces Seesaw, Schoology, and Google Classroom, streamlining systems aligned with student goals and progress. Parents/Guardians will have access as “observers” to monitor assignments and expectations. Watch for more information on how to connect to your student’s Canvas course.
Information for Parents
Annual Update Deadline
Thank you to all the families who have completed the annual update through their parent portal account. This update is required annually by the Sioux Falls School District. It is important that we have the most accurate up-to-date information for your students and your family. You will have until September 26, 2023, midnight, to get this completed.
You may not have a computer, a parent portal account, or are just having problems logging on to your account in Infinite Campus. We are here to help you. We have computers available at Lincoln High School for you to use. Your cell phone or tablet will not work for completing the annual update. Please call Kim Bowman at Lincoln High School, 605-367-7994, if any of these issues are the case. Our hours are 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
Below you will find information and links for doing your annual update.

Booster Club and Senior Class Party
Senior Class Parents
Class of 2024,
The 2024 Senior Class Party is largely funded by concession stand sales during LHS HOME games.
Students, parents, and family members can work these shifts. Students can use their shifts in the concessions as volunteer hours for National Honor Society and other volunteer needs.
For the first time ever we are going to have a few concessions at home JV football and soccer games in addition to volleyball, basketball and wrestling. When you are signing up please read whether you are volunteering *indoors or outdoors*.
If you volunteer for the set up shift please plan on being IN the concessions and ready to set up at the listed time. Parking and getting into the building can be busy after school so please allow yourself plenty of time to park and check in at the office on those days.
Specific concessions instructions will be available in the concessions stand.
If you are unable to volunteer on a day you signed up please be sure to find a replacement for your time slot.
Many hands make light work, so we invite all seniors & their parents to sign up & help make concessions successful. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!
