Madonna Catholic School News
June 13th, 2025
Dear Madonna Families,
In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus tells us two beautiful parables about the Kingdom of God — one about a growing seed and another about a tiny mustard seed that becomes the largest of all garden plants. These parables remind us that even the smallest acts of faith, kindness, and love can grow into something much greater than we could imagine. Just like seeds growing in a garden, God’s work in our lives often begins quietly and grows steadily, sometimes without us even realizing it.
As we near the end of our school year, we can reflect on all the little “seeds” planted in our school community — seeds of friendship, learning, prayer, and service. We’ve seen them grow throughout the year, and now, as we prepare for summer, we celebrate how far we’ve come. It’s been a joy watching our students grow in both knowledge and faith.
This month is full of excitement! We’ve already had several amazing field trips — each one an opportunity to explore, discover, and bond with classmates. And we’re not done yet! More exciting events are on the horizon, from end-of-year celebrations to special activities and community gatherings. Each of these moments is a reminder of how God blesses our school family every day.
As we enjoy these last few weeks together, let’s continue to nurture those small seeds of faith and look forward with hope to how they will grow over the summer and beyond.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cathy Hinger, Principal
Mrs. Fiona Wimmer, Assistant Principal

FAITH INTEGRATION
1B teaches us about St Kateri
As we celebrate National Indigenous History Month our Grade 1’s led us in a beautiful assembly honoring Saint Kateri Tekakwitha.
St. Kateri was the first Indigenous saint in the Catholic Church. She was born in 1656 and got very sick when she was little. Even though she lost her family and had many challenges, she stayed strong in her faith.
When she was 19, she chose to follow Jesus and lived a kind and holy life. Some people didn’t understand her choice, but she never gave up. She prayed a lot and helped others. St. Kateri died when she was 24 years old.
She became a saint in 2012 and is now the patron saint of nature, the environment, and Indigenous people. We remember her for her love of Jesus and her strength.
