The Muraski Tribune: Issue 23
Important Dates and Information for the 23-24 School Year
UPDATE FROM THE PRINCIPALS
Good Morning Muraski Families,
We had another amazing week last week which closed out the 2nd Trimester at Muraski. This means that grades are closed and you will be able to access grades on Thursday, February 29th. We closed the Trimester with PBIS lessons, led by Mr. Lawrence, where we taught students about the importance of prioritizing our time. Making sure we start with the most important items, then the things we might not want to do but have to do, and finally the things that we choose to do. These lessons are always enjoyable for us and the students.
This weekend, I took my daughter, Emily, skiing for the first time. There was some nerves, a little fear, a few tears, followed by a whole bunch of fun and smiles. Our day reminded me of the importance of letting our children fall sometimes. Although we always want to be there to protect them, sometimes they need to experience challenges, adversity, and even falling down. Whether it is with their school work, dealing with a choice they made at school, or physically falling down on the slopes, adversity is a great teacher. It can lead to accomplishment and a sense of pride for what was overcome. Think about that as we enter our last Trimester, where our 5th graders begin to get ready for Middle School and our Kindergartners are no longer the youngest learners in the building.
Let's have a great week!

Congratulations to Our Math Participants
On Saturday, February 24th, Mrs. Laub and Mrs. Gibson took 16 of our 5th grade students to Huntington Elementary in Brunswick, to compete against other 4th and 5th grade students in the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics Math Competition. They worked so hard and had so much fun showing off their problem solving, collaboration, and math skills. We are so proud of the participants.
REMINDERS for 5th Grade: Class Sign-Ups & T-Shirt Orders
On Thursday, February 8th, your child engaged in an information session with their Middle School Counselor, Ashley Marozsan. Mrs. Marozsan came to share general information about the transition to middle school.
