Starting on November 4th and running through November 22nd, we are going to challenge students to be on time for school!

The classroom that has the most on time students for the month of November will get a class pizza party to celebrate!

The "Punctual Pixie" says, "Let's be on time and enjoy chatting with our friends in the morning before class"

What do I do if my child is absent? Does my child have to stay home if he/she has a fever? Can I bring birthday treats? What time does school start? When is recess? Are crocs allowed in sport mode?

Please be mindful of the weather conditions each day and make sure your child is prepared, with sunscreen application before school. Sunscreen, hydration, and weather appropriate clothing are a must for recess periods. Inclement weather also includes windy days!

On inclement weather days, students are usually asked to go to the MPR for the morning until the bell rings and the teacher picks them up for class.

As a Civic Leadership Academy our vision is to empower young people to engage in their communities to help others. As part of that vision, Ms. Rydell's first grade class will be collecting toys and other items to support under resourced families during the holidays. The collection will start on November 15th and run through December 3rd. The items collected during this drive will go directly to families in our area. Even if your child is not in Ms. Rydell's class, you can still participate. We will have a collection box in the office. Please see below for more information.

Free Holiday Community Event (New)

• On Saturday, December 7th from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm celebrate the holidays by joining the Samaritan Center to take pictures with Santa, see a holiday movie, shop vendor booths, and merry more! All proceeds will help the mission to support those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in Simi Valley. LINk

• The Dinner Site Calendar is linked here. Meals are available to all families in need. Samaritan Center also serves breakfast and lunch. Families can also use the showers but need to meet with a caseworker at Samaritan Center to set this up.

Food Pantries

• The Samaritan Center has a New Flyer: The pantry has changed its hours and format, Walk Through Only- Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.

• Still Waters Cafe continue to serve as our local food pantries. A food pantry is also held in Moorpark at Moorpark College on Tuesdays from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. More information can be found here. Here is a list of regional food pantries and dinner sites.
